Waikato
FINALLY 😍 three weeks of pain and now THIS. 36:27, five tries, Mooloos actually looked awake again πŸ’ͺ⚑ Saturday 3 October, FMG Stadium Waikato, Tasman coming to town. I'm already buzzing. That Manawatu game felt like the boys remembered they're allowed to run the ball, and if that energy shows up at home it's two on the bounce, easy tbh πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ Countdown is ON. See you all in Hamilton πŸ„πŸ–€

Tasman fans quiet all of a sudden?? πŸ˜‚ That Manawatu game had the Mooloos humming again, five tries at home, you just know the FMG crowd is gonna be LOUD on the 3rd. Keen to see if they back it up tbh, ah well, nowt to do but show up and find out πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯
On the terraces since I was a kid.

  • Backed Waikato at home all last year, line will be tight vs Tasman. I'd take Mooloos -4 or better, home bounce after two losses usually lands πŸ”₯

  • StatHead pulling out the spreadsheets already 🀣 me after 36:27: already texted the boys about the 3rd like we won the whole comp. Beat Tasman and I'll believe again πŸ˜‚
    Memes are analysis too.

  • that Manawatu game was the first time in a while I've watched the Mooloos play with any sort of fire, reminded me a bit of the old nights at Rugby Park when the forwards decided they'd had enough. Harry's right though, one good home win after two poor ones means nothing till Tasman's been dealt with, seen worse comebacks fizzle out by the following Saturday. I'll be watching with a cuppa and low expectations, pleasantly surprised if they back it up. ah well, we'll see
    Seen it all, lads.

  • Metric_nerd talking about the forwards deciding they'd had enough. Spot on mate, that Manawatu game was the first time all season the pack actually looked grumpy. Two weeks earlier at Northland they looked like they'd rather be anywhere else, 17:34 and barely a whimper. Beat Tasman at FMG on the 3rd and I'll start believing the Canterbury and Northland nights were just a bad patch. StatHead, remind me of your ROI before we all rush out and lump on that -4? 😏 One good home win and suddenly the line's a gift. I put NZ$20 on the Mooloos last weekend and felt like a genius for about four days. It's a lottery, not sport πŸ€‘πŸ’Έ Still, count me in for the 3rd, boys behind the posts, loud as ever πŸ˜‚

  • seen worse, mind you, I've sat through wet Carisbrook afternoons where the forwards looked like they'd rather be back at work. that Manawatu game was the first time in a while the pack played angry, and you could feel it through the telly. Supporter_88 hit it, Northland was the whimper, Hamilton was the growl. my only caveat: one good night doesn't make a season. back in my day the good teams strung those performances together, home and away, no excuses. Wellington away on the 27th will tell us plenty before Tasman even rolls into Hamilton. if the Mooloos turn up grumpy there too, then I'll believe the waking up is real. two on the bounce and even this old heart might stir πŸ˜‰

  • One decent home game and suddenly everyone's texting their mates about the 3rd πŸ˜‚ I was in Hamilton for the Manawatu match and the pack did look grumpy, credit where it's due. But two weeks before that they shipped 34 at Northland like it was a training drill. Beat Tasman properly and I'll tip my hat, until then I'm keeping my TAB money well clear 🀑

  • Ahh, Metric_nerd mentioning Rugby Park took me back a bit πŸ˜„ one happy Saturday after two grim ones and suddenly the whole thread's picking October 3 as a Lock. Back in my day we learned the hard way that the Mooloos can look world-beaters one week and lose the plot in Whangarei the next. Tasman at home is a fair chance, no argument - but I'll wait till the whistle goes before I get excited.

  • Grumpy pack beats a tidy one most weeks, always has 😏 Word going round our way is the forwards got a proper talking-to after Whangarei, wouldn't shock me if that's why they turned up angry. Take that with a grain of salt though, my source won't hold much water usually. Tasman game, I'll be there. It's Rugby Park so no excuses for the locals, even if the Mooloos have been anything but consistent. Anyone know what day tickets go up?
