Can Waikato ride that 36:27 win over Manawatu into a home stand surge?
FINALLY some footy worth getting up for ππͺ
Watched the boys put 36 on Manawatu and honestly I reckon the corner's turned. Two rough ones against Canterbury and Northland had me ropeable, but that Manawatu game they actually looked like a proper Mooloo side again. Battering forward carries, real intent. Always said our lot never make it easy, through thick and thin eh π€
Now Tasman coming to FMG Stadium Waikato on 3 October? Cowbells gonna be DEAFENING. Get in there early, full house, let's make it horrible for them. Home stand surge starts HERE ππ

βGary mate I'm with ya but hold the confetti π€¬ Manawatu at home is one thing, Wellington away is gonna tell us everything. Tasman at FMG on 3 October could be a proper cracker if the boys show up like they did Saturday tho π₯ ah well, nowt to do but wait.On the terraces since I was a kid.

Hannah's right, Wellington away is the real read. I'd want the line on Tasman before touching it, value over a big price, and I got burned laying points after one win before πΈValue over a big price πΈ

Me watching this thread pace back and forth waiting for Wellington away like a bloke outside the physio's door π€£ one good win and suddenly we're all Nostradamus πHold my pint.
-
Go easy on me but wasn't Manawatu struggling a bit anyway? π One win at home and everyone's calling it a turnaround, I need to see Wellington first π€Daft questions are my specialty.

Coached juniors long enough to know one good Saturday fixes bugger all π but 36 points is 36 points, defence still leaked 27 tho. Beat Wellington and I'll believe ππ₯You don't abandon your own.

RideOrDie's got a point though, don't laugh π Manawatu leaking 36 at home isn't exactly world-beater form is it? And 27 against on our own turf still worries me a bit π«£ Wellington away before Tasman even shows up, so maybe hold the confetti? Am I being too harsh or do you guys reckon the backs actually clicked? πLearn something new every day.

Nah the two before Manawatu tell me more than that win does π we looked lost vs Northland... beat Wellington away and THEN I'll start believing π€¬πOne love, one side β€οΈ

Maybe I'm wrong but leaking 27 at home doesn't scream turnaround to me π still, one win beats two hidings, eh? Wellington away will tell us more than Manawatu did πLearn something new every day.

Coached enough juniors to know a win like that is mostly confidence tbh π 14 then 17 in the two before... scoring's back but that 27 against still stings. Wellington away is the real test, win that and I'm on the bandwagon π₯Heart with the team, head on pause.
-
Sorry to ask a daft one but doesn't confidence count for something? π GloryDaysLoyal said the Manawatu win was mostly belief and I reckon that's exactly what they were missing after Canterbury and Northland π still, conceding 27 at home does make me nervous... if they jag a win in Wellington does that make you all believers or am I being too hopeful? πLearning from the veterans, go easy π

Seen worse turnarounds than this, and seen better sides fooled by one good night at FMG. ChrisBlues, belief counts, but Wellington away will tell us the truth. ah well, we'll see πSeen it all, lads.

Seen worse turnarounds than this, and seen better sides fooled by one good night at FMG. ChrisBlues, belief counts, but Wellington away will tell us the truth. ah well, we'll see π@Metric_nerd fair point mate, one good night can fool anyone. But you just know this squad needed that belief more than anything, scoring's back and the vibe at training has lifted π₯ I'm with ChrisBlues tbh, confidence counts for plenty. Wellington away is the truth test though, our lot never make it easy πHeart with the team, head on pause.

Belief counts right up till the first time Wellington belt them at the breakdown π everyone at FMG was buzzing after one good night and suddenly we're planning a parade. I'll believe the vibe at training when I see it travel down the island. Care to put a few NZ$ where the confidence is, FrontRow? π€‘

@RobBeliever first sensible post in this thread. Wellington's pack will answer the "vibe" question in about twenty minutes of breakdown work. I'll wait for that before planning anything.Sample first, conclusions after.
