Remember when Semenoff Stadium roared so loud the kauri in Kensington
i remember that night in 2011 like it was last week, standing up the Terrace end when Northland lifted the Log o' Wood and the whole ground just lifted with it, noise you could feel in your chest 😄 old school rugby at its finest, 30,000-odd blokes and their dogs all roaring at once. back in the day we reckoned Whangarei never got loud enough, that night shut us up good. ah well, we'll see

✓The way the crowd just came together that night was pure gold. I was right down by the boundary and felt my chest shake every time they scored. You don't abandon your own.

I was up on the embankment with my old man that night, reckon I hugged half of Whangarei by fulltime 😄 Back in my day we'd trek to Eden Park and get shellacked quietly, so lifting the Log o' Wood at home felt like the whole town got a say for once. Funny how a bloke remembers the smell of the pies and the sound of the kauri rattling more than the score itself.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Ha, my clearest memory of that night is losing my jandals somewhere on the embankment and walking home barefoot like some sort of pilgrimage 😂 Legendary stuff, hugging strangers, half of them probably thought I was sobbing about the Shield. Great thread lads, this one has a life of its own 🍿Only serious one here — barely.
