Taranaki
FINALLY the boys get a proper home game to flex πŸ’ͺ 55 past Southland, and anyone who saw it knows that wasn't a capy performance, we were humming. Auckland were meant to be the test and we handled them too πŸ”₯ Wellington at Stadium Taranaki on the 4th, been circling that date since the draw came out. Going up for it with a few mates, dairy can survive one day without me lol. I'm not expecting another blowout tbh, Wellington will turn up, but if we bring that same tempo, backing them all day. Get in! πŸ™Œ

Got a soft spot for watching Wellington leave New Plymouth with a hiding 😀πŸ”₯ Remember the last one, absolute scenes. Blowout again, easy money πŸ™Œ

  • Was on the road Saturday arvo and had the Southland score come through on the radio, nearly did a U-turn laughing. 55:19 at home after handling Auckland 28:12, that's proper form. Betting head on though, easy money it ain't. That 55 only landed a week after a 25:27 slip at Manawatu, so this side can go flat overnight and the line will know it. TAB will price Wellington as the travelling name side and there's your value, take Taranaki with whatever start they give us at Stadium Taranaki rather than the straight win. Blowout replay feels greedy to me, I'd say tight-ish win, somewhere in the 10-15 band, and put a small slab on it. If the line moves toward Taranaki by Friday, that's the crowd telling you something. πŸ’Έ
    Bankroll discipline wins.

  • Barmaaaaaan. Even the kegs at work are vibrating for the 4th πŸ˜‚ I told the boys on Friday arvo that Southland copped 55 and one of them spat out his beer and said "wait, that Taranaki?" Yes cuz, that Taranaki. Wellington coming to Stadium Taranaki is gonna be a fun night. My prediction: I'll put NZ$20 on us purely for theζƒ…η»ͺ value, and whether it's a blowout or a grind I'm already planning my recovery Monday 🀣🍿

  • Rang Southland games at the old CAR back in the day and never saw anyone put 55 on them, so this form has me grinning. I'd back the boys to take it to Wellington, but they copped a beat at Manawatu not long ago, so FirstFive15 is right to keep the punting head on. Might drive up the coast for the 4th if the weather plays ball πŸ˜„
Been here longer than some have followed.

  • Funny how everyone forgot the Manawatu trip already πŸ˜‚ Lost 25:27 away a fortnight before they hung 55 on Southland, that's the Taranaki experience in a nutshell. I'll believe the blowout talk when I see Wellington's line at the TAB first, betting the house on two good weeks is how punters donate money 🀑😏
    Any stat can be bent.

  • Supporter_88 has a point, that Manawatu loss is still fresh in the memory, eh. Back in my day Taranaki could look world-beaters one Saturday and fall over the next, and I've seen it all before with this sort of form run. I'll back the boys to beat Wellington at Stadium Taranaki on the 4th, just not expecting another 55-point parade. Hmm, wouldn't put money on the margin anyway. πŸ˜‰

  • Funny how Supporter_88 suddenly rates the Manawatu loss like he's never had a dirty slip himself 🀑 Anyway, back to back wins over Auckland and Southland is legit form, and Wellington walking into Stadium Taranaki after that 55:19 rout? I've already had a quiet few NZ$ on the boys at the TAB. Sure thing, mate, I'll let you know when it lands πŸ˜πŸ’Έ

  • Watched enough Taranaki sides over the years to know a hot streak means sweet nothing till the whistle goes. I was at Eden Park the night we put fifty-odd on someone and got turned over the very next week, so this 55:19 against Southland has me smiling but not reaching for the wallet just yet. Supporter_88's got a point about Manawatu, even if he says it with a smirk. Back in my day the amber and blacks could look world-beaters one Saturday and fall over the next, and not much has changed there. Wellington will come down and grind it out if you let them. Young fellas backing the blowout, I'd just temper it a bit πŸ˜‰ We'll know soon enough on 4 October.
Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.
