Two home games left at McLean Park
Two weeks till Taranaki roll into Napier and honestly I can't wait π₯ That Otago game showed what this mob can do when the forwards front up, 35:24 and the crowd at McLean Park was buzzing all night.
Then the last two weeks happened π± 24:31 at home to Harbour, and getting done 17:32 by Bay of Plenty stung a bit not gonna lie, I was there in my Magpies gear copping it from the Steamers fans. But that's footy, our lot never make it easy. Still got home comfort vs Taranaki on the 27th and then Counties away to finish. I'm backing them to turn it around, simple as. GET IN MAGPIES πͺπ who else is keen?

βTaranaki fans already talking like McLean Park is theirs π mate that crowd carries our lot over the line, Otago found out quick. Two straight losses stung but the forwards will front up at home... 27 September can't come soon enough π₯πͺHeart with the team, head on pause.

Watched that North Harbour loss hurt more than the BoP one, purely because I had us giving 4.5 at home and it didn't land by a bucket load π Two straight weeks the line's been drifting against us too, which tells you where the TAB money's going. For Taranaki on the 27th I'd want them as underdogs at home before I touch it. The Otago game proved the ceiling's there when the pack fires, but I'm not paying a short price on a side that just coughed up 31 and 32 in consecutive weeks. Value over a big price, and right now there's no value either way until the market settles. Counties away on 3 October I'm leaving alone entirely, away form's been rough. Keen to see where the line opens once teams drop.Bankroll discipline wins.

The way I've been checking this thread you'd think I had money on it, and the one time I put NZ$5 on us my multi died before halftime π€£ Touchline my dude, the TAB reading our form like a doctor reading a bad blood test. Still backing the boys at McLean Park though, hold my pint πΏMemes are analysis too.

Question from a newbie, go easy on me π everyone keeps saying the forwards will front up again but the last two weeks they got outmuscled, 24:31 and then 17:32. What exactly changes against Taranaki? Cheers RobbedAgainEnjoyer for the laugh by the way, my one NZ$5 multi carked it too πLearning from the veterans, go easy π

Wellington mate, fair question tbh, and here's what I reckon changes: home ground rust-on. BoP away was a slog trip, Harbour night game had us flat off the kickoff, but under the McLean Park lights with a full house behind them our lot never make it easy but they bloody turn up π₯ I remember being there for the Otago night, crowd dragged them over the line in the last quarter. Backing us against Taranaki, no doubt πͺ

Bit of a hard sell when you tell me the Otago win means they'll turn up under lights π the Harbour game WAS at McLean Park too and we lost it 24:31. What's different about this home crowd exactly, or is it just vibes? Sorry if that's a dumb take, still learning πDumb questions are my specialty.

Fair shout Dave, vibes alone don't tackle π but I was at the Harbour loss and we still nearly nicked it late. Fix the kickoff defence and we're right, backing em vs Taranaki πͺYou don't abandon your own.

Back in my day we used to call Hawke's Bay the great magpies of inconsistency, and some things don't change π I've watched them blow hot and cold at McLean Park since the amateur days, so my advice to the young fellas here is don't bet the house either way. Seen worse sides than this turn a season around, and seen better ones fall over. Taranaki will tell us plenty on the 27th, eh.Been here longer than some have followed.
