Suncorp Saturday: Reds by 5, someone's shout at the Caxton afterwards?
How are ya lads, what a week to be breathing footy air ππ₯ Suncorp Saturday, Reds by 5 and I'm already buzzing like it's match day already. If McReight keeps pinching ball at the breakdown like he did last week I'll shout the first round at the Caxton - NZ$10 jugs, don't get fancy on me mates π»πͺ Where's everyone watching from?

βha, jugs at the Caxton for the price of a flat white, the young fellas will think all their birthdays have come at once π been following the Reds since back in my day when you'd queue round the block for a General Admission ticket and still get treated like muck by the Tahs mob up there, so a five-point win at Suncorp would taste sweet. McReight pinching ball like a seagull on a chip, if he goes again on Saturday the Tahs might want to check their pockets at the gate π shout me a half jug if it happens, Sam. she'll be right either way, derby night under lights is worth the trip on its own.Been here longer than some have followed.

My graphic designer brain is already pricing the "McReight Steals Everything" t-shirt order π if he nicks another 3, shout queue at the Caxton'll be chocka π»π€£Memes are analysis too.

Haha the t-shirt queue might be longer than the beer queue at this rate π put me down for a medium and one of them NZ$10 jigs ta π» Only worry I've got is the Tahs smashing everything at the breakdown early doors, but Fraser just reads it like a book lately. Seen plenty of loose forwards in my time, that bloke's timing is different, you just know he's gonna be there when it matters πͺ reds by 5, shout's on Sam, see ya at the Caxton π΄One love, one side β€οΈ

Back in the day I drove a load of timber up to Suncorp for a Reds-Tahs night and the breakdown was pure dockyard biff, no whistle, just warfare π young Fraser would've thrived on it. If he's reading the Tahs' ruck clean like last week, those first-phase steals will do the job before the jugs even get poured. Count me in at the Caxton, I'll be the old fella at the end of the bar.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Grew up in Rotorua where my old man reckons the breakdown's where you learn who you are, so seeing Fraser go hunting like he did last week just makes me grin π Diehard, I'm with you, Tahs will come hard early, but if Fraser keeps nicking ball I'll happily chip in for a jug round, NZ$10 limit or not π» Do you all get to the Caxton before or after the final whistle?
-
Fraser at the breakdown takes me back to when old-school poachers used to own that loose ball by instinct alone, no coach telling them where to stand π what I've noticed lately is how quietly he does it too - no big hit, just hands on the ball and gone before the Tahs even look up. Count me in for a jug at the Caxton, NZ$10 limit suits my pension nicely π ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.

Metric_nerd that quiet poaching bit is so true, don't laugh but I only clocked it last week myself π Only worry is if the Tahs slow him down early. Count me in for a jug π»New here, soaking it up.

Metric_nerd that quiet poaching bit is so true, don't laugh but I only clocked it last week myself π Only worry is if the Tahs slow him down early. Count me in for a jug π»@Josh_Auckland funny how everyone's an expert on the poaching angle one week after it happened. Slow him down early? Every side tries that, the good ones just work around it. What's your actual evidence the Tahs can do it, or is that a gut feeling thing again?Sample first, conclusions after.

That quiet poaching stuff reminds me of the old days when a fetcher just read the ref's whistle and beat everyone to the party. No fanfare, no big hit, just the ball and gone - funny how the more things change the more they stay the same eh π What gives me hope on Saturday is that the Tahs usually tip away at the breakdown early, get a bit narky, and if Fraser gets his hands on a couple of those first half balls they'll fold in on themselves chasing shadows. Seen it before with visiting packs, one stolen pill and suddenly the whole forward drive loses its nerve. Count me in for the jug round lads, NZ$10 jugs at the Caxton after a win beats anything I could've bought back in my day π»Remember when the grass was greener π±

the more things change eh, fix, my old man said the same about clever poachers in the seventies π count me in for a jug, young josh can shout the second round.Remember when the grass was greener π±

Ha, my old coach used to yell "get your mitts in there!" at training and Fraser does it without the shouting πͺ First jug on me at the Caxton if the Reds sneak it π»π₯On the terraces since I was a kid.

Ha, my old coach used to yell "get your mitts in there!" at training and Fraser does it without the shouting πͺ First jug on me at the Caxton if the Reds sneak it π»π₯@FixIsInEnjoyer love that, a coach yelling it beats watching breakdown clips any day π I only started following the Reds properly this season so honest question, is Fraser the guy who does it clean or does he give away a few penalties doing it? Either way put me down for a round at the Caxton, drinks in Wellington are pricey enough π»Dumb questions are my specialty.
