Ballymore boys forever, drop your favourite Reds memory that still
G'day lads, had to jump in on this one. I remember when Ballymore was the whole world to us — standing on the hill back in the amateur days, a pie and a flask of tea, watching the Reds run out in front of a proper home crowd. Old school footy, no roof, no fancy stuff, and you could hear every hit from the fence. Those nights made me a Red for life 😄
But the one that still gives me shivers is 2011 at Suncorp. 18-13, and when Quade flicked that pass wide and Genia just sniped off the ruck, the whole of Queensland came up off the seats like one animal. I was up from across the ditch for it, worth every dollar on the ferry and the motel. My old man rang me after and we just sat on the phone not saying much, both grinning. Honestly, seen worse nights out. But few better ones. Anyone else here for that final? Would love to hear where you blokes were watching it.

✓2011 final had me yelling at the telly like an idiot, and I'm not even Queensland born 😅 that Genia dart still gives me chills. Magic days lads 🏉❤️

watch as long as I have and you'll get why that Genia dart from his own line meant so much. Back in my day a halfback would've hoofed it into the stands and thanked the referee 😄 my old man took me to Ballymore when i was a teenager, fog on the hill, pies for tuppence, and the roar sounded exactly like Suncorp did in '11. some nights just stay with you, eh 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

Beautiful memories above, and I'll admit even I stopped fiddling with my spreadsheets that night in 2011. Honest comparison though: that side had a settled spine, Cooper, Genia, Horwill, Slipper all in their prime together. While the current crop is still finding theirs, and it shows when the pressure comes. Give this lot two or three more seasons and a proper Suncorp night could absolutely happen again. Small sample so far, but the signs are decent 📊

quiet night here in whanganui and i still watched that cooper flick off the boot of my memory 😄 the young lot never saw a crowd lift a team like suncorp did that night.Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

🤣 my memory of 2011 is my flatmate crying into a pie when Cooper flicked it, good times. Ballymore hill legends, respect lads 😂

That Cooper flick still gets aired in my flat whenever someone claims the current mob are the ones. Word going round there's more than one bloke at Ballymore who reckons the roar rattled the coaches box too 🤫😏Solid source, details in the DMs.
