North Harbour
i remember those midwinter nights at albany when the breeze came straight off the harbour and froze your ribs, and we sang anyway till the last whistle. back in my day you'd rug up in a jersey older than half the team and it was still magic 😄 and good on them, the pie's still six bucks and still worth the trip. raise the flag, harbour family.

Froze your ribs 😂 mate that breeze up the embankment had my ears gone blue by half time every winter. I was there with my old man, wrapped in a Harbour flag, singing ourselves hoarse while the rain came sideways, wouldn't trade those nights for anything. And yes, the $6 pie still gets me back through the gate 🔥🙌

Heart with the team, head on pause.

  • took the young lot to their first game a few winters back, and they whinged about the cold till i told them the story of my old man and me sharing a thermos under the same flag at albany, blue noses and all. funny how the shivering is half the memory, eh. and at $6 that pie's still the best deal in auckland, hard out 😄
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

  • Good shout on the old days, though I'd back this current squad in attack. The mid-2000s pack could tough out a wet Albany night better, I could be wrong, but the shivering's the same either way 📊
Do the math before you argue.

  • Back when I was carting freight out to the North Shore pre-dawn, the only thing that got me through a frost was knowing there'd be a game at Albany that night, and a $6 pie at half time worth every cent. My old man used to say the cold sorts out the true supporters from the sightseers, and he was right. Pack of the mid-2000s was granite, no argument, but I'll take a night under the lights with the young lot singing badly any day 😉
Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

  • @SeenItAll_Guy a $6 pie and a Harbour win used to be the safest double going, these days I'd want better odds on the pie 😭 Half the reason I still get to Albany is the cold honestly, makes the beer hit harder when it lands. Shame about the seagull tax though OldSchool, that's a real margin band of grief right there 🍺
    Bankroll discipline wins.

@SeenItAll_Guy my old man used to say the same about the frost, swear you Blokes up the Shore are built different 😂 honestly I coach the juniors down here and still reckon nothing beats a cold night at Albany, footy tastes better when you cant feel your hands. That pie though... inflation has ruined the double alright 🥧🔥
    One love, one side ❤️

  • My best memory is losing feeling in both feet AND my pie to a seagull in the same minute. Worth it, sweet as 🤣🥧
