Seen a couple of whispers on the group chat that a certain Chiefs midfield bruiser might be off contract after the season. Nothing signed, nothing confirmed, just word doing the rounds. But imagine him running straight off Tate at Suncorp, someone actually punching us over the gain line instead of sideways passes into touch. I'd trade the whole barbie selection for that alone.
Half expecting him to re-up with the Chiefs for another year though, knowing our luck with these things. Funny how every bloke who leaves NZ suddenly reads the game like a professor the moment they cross the ditch 😏 still, put me down as first in the queue if it's real.

Robbed's got a point on the sample though. Group chat whispers have been wrong about a dozen times since I started keeping my spreadsheet. The nuance here is age: if the bloke's 29-plus, RA money usually can't match NZ$ offers staying home, and the Reds rarely win those auctions anyway. Collision presence next to Tate would be lovely, but I'd pencil it at maybe 20% before you trade any barbies. 📊

Love how FixIsIn's spreadsheet is basically a rumour graveyard at this point 😂 Mate I heard the same whisper from a mate who does turf at Ballymore, and he reckons the Reds have at least sounded him out, whether they can compete with NZ$ staying home is another story. Punters on the TAB would probably still frame us favourites to land him just for the lols. I'd pay decent money just to see him run off Tate once, to be honest 🤡Any stat can be bent.
