Right, lads, who's our new midfield general?
Watched the second five jersey get passed around like a hot pie all last season, so anything's an upgrade. Word is a certain Blues fringe centre's been having a run around Semenoff Stadium this week, won't name him here, Auckland mob reads this forum too. If it lands, sweet as; if not, we're back to square one. Any of you lot heard the same whisper?

✓A run around Semenoff and suddenly he's our saviour? Half the Bay of Islands has trained there at some point, that proves nothing. I'll believe it when the team sheet drops, until then it's just a bloke in a Blues jersey doing fitness work, show me the numbers or the signature.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Bloody hope it's real 😮🔥 that second five hole killed us all last season, no go-forward ball, nobody taking the line on... one decent distributor and our whole backline wakes up And who cares if he's just doing fitness work tbh, the fact he's HERE means someone's talking 🙌 bloke with Blues reps even fringe would walk into our midfield, gimme that every day. Show me the numbers, fine, but heart says it all. We've been crying out for this for years, backing it all day 💪One love, one side ❤️

Hater318's got a point about the run-around proving nothing, but there's a logic check here worth doing: a fringe Blues centre is typically 22-25, and that's exactly the age window where NPC minutes are how they get game time. A fit-in for us makes sense in both directions, they want him playing, we want a distributor with pedigree. Caveat as always: one winter's worth of speculation isn't a sample, and my ledger stays open until the team sheet drops 📊Numbers > vibes.

A fringe Blues centre at 22-25 needing NPC minutes? I could be wrong, but that cuts both ways, he comes here to prove a point, then the mob up the road reclaims him the moment he looks good. Hater318 wants a signature before believing anything, fair enough, but BootToBallGuru's logic only tells us why he'd train here, nothing about whether he stays. 📊 Show me a contract length and I'll start caring.

Son, every second five we've had on loan went the same way and we still got a season out of them first 😄 remember when the Chiefs farmed lads out to the smaller unions before derby season? bloke plays for us while he's here, wins us games, that's the whole deal. if the Blues want him back mid-season, we've squeezed the juice out already, no loss.Seen it all, lads.

Ha, my mate swears he saw the ute with Blues gear parked up at Semenoff on Tuesday arvo, same time the skills session was on 🤡 and knowing this union's luck, bloke will carve up all winter then be back in Auckland by February. Still, if he wins us a few in Bunnings NPC while he's here, I'll happily get burnt again 😏Here to argue, not to nod along.

Ultra88 is right that a season of a loanie beats another year of the rotation carousel. My caveat: only if he actually signs through the full NPC, saw too many lads vanish mid-campaign.

been down this road before, lads. remember the year we all got excited about the touring higher-profile lad who was meant to be anchoring the midfield. Trained once, photo in the paper, gone before the first loan game. and the time the whisper turned out to be just a bloke having a run with his cousins up here, nothing more. seen worse rumours than a blues ute at semenoff, anyway 😄 so yeah, i'll believe it when he's in the taniwha jersey round one, signed through the full campaign like retro says. until then he's just a rumour with a car park. ah well, we'll seeSeen it all, lads.

My caveat: only if he actually signs through the full NPC, saw too many lads vanish mid-campaign.you've put your finger on the right thing, Retro_Faithful. seeing lads vanish mid-campaign is always frustrating. if he can just settle in and commit to the entire npc season, that's the sort of bedrock a team needs. luck? they might be gone after the first big clash, but commitment is the only thing that matters when you're planning for the long haul.Been here longer than some have followed.
