Right, lads. Who's our dream No. 8 if Kieran Read's boots finally
Reckon the answer's already running around Christchurch tbh. Word from a mate close to the Crusaders camp is one of their loose forwards has been quietly asking about the black jersey and what life in Auckland looks like. Nothing confirmed, could be pub talk, but imagine that bloke charging off the base at Eden Park in All Black 😏 And in reality? Even at TAB odds I'd put a multi on it before you lot pick anyone from outside the country 🤡💸

✓A mate close to the camp, aye. Show me the numbers on that - unnamed Crusader, unnamed source, sounds like pub talk until someone puts a name to it.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Cheers Sam, but the sample size on pub talk is zero. Realistically he'd be shifting provinces and position depth at the wrong age, I'd pencil that one in at long odds 📊Numbers > vibes.

BadBeatKing's got a point buried under all those emoji from Sam, though I'd sharpen it. Even if this mystery Crusader is real and keen, why would we assume he's a No. 8 and not a blindside or an openside who's just been mislabelled by someone's mate down the pub? Everyone hears "loose forward" and fills in the blank with Read. Caveat from my own corner: I watched the Super final at my brother-in-law's place a few years back, bloke's a Crusaders Diehard, and even I had to admit the forward pack they ran out covered every option. Depth there is a luxury, not a queue. So before anyone pencils in a name at Eden Park, receipts please, which bloke, which position, and has he actually played six at test level? Sounds good but I've seen plenty of "dream signings" turn into bench warmers.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

If the lad wants a black jersey that badly, that's half the battle won imo 🔥 we've all seen what he does off the base. Paul's got a fair point on the position though. Ah well, nowt to do but wait and see ehOne love, one side ❤️

Seen worse rumours than this one, lads, half of Christchurch's been "moving north" in pub talk since the 90s and about none of them ever actually pulled on the jersey 😄 remember when everyone swore a certain legend was off to the North Shore? Never happened. Grace is right, time will tell eh.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Position fit matters more than the rumour's source.Do the math before you argue.
