Honest question, fam: is our swag offloading game actually genius
Genius, obviously - same crowd who called it munted against the Chiefs were cheering the exact same flick two weeks later when it stuck. One intercept away from heartbreak? Mate, every offload game lives that close to the edge, that's the whole point of supporting the Drua 😏 Wait for the fanboys to pile in, but I'd back this swag every day of the week.

✓So a play that works twice is genius and one that gets intercepted is bad luck? How many times has it stuck versus been pinged, that ratio is the whole argument, mate.Sample first, conclusions after.

Est has it right, the ratio is the whole argument, I'd want to see how many of those offloads from our own 22 have stuck versus been picked off before calling it genius or suicide. The flick against the Chiefs worked because the support runner was timing his run, and that's coachable, not luck. Could be wrong, but my spreadsheet says the risk profile is fine when we're going forward and ghastly when we're pinned inside our quarter.Do the math before you argue.

I was at Carisbrook the night a fella threw a no-look pass from his own quarter and the whole stand went quiet, then roared when it stuck - same as your Chiefs flick, really. The ratio's the thing like Est says, but watch as long as I have and you'll get it: instinct plays only become genius when the support running's honest. Seen worse calls from safer teams, that's the truth of it 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

Imagine putting your hard-earned on the Drua playing it safe 😂 the day that happens I'll eat my hi-vis vest. Swag stays, Chris is right though. It's coached timing, not coin flips 😏Here to argue, not to nod along.

Coached timing? 😂 nah bro, some of those flicks are pure vibes and we all know it. Genius till it ain't... how's yer heart rate after the Chiefs one, Chris? 😱🔥One love, one side ❤️

Pure vibes? mate, the young lot never saw the old island sides throw those same passes barefoot in the mud and make it look easy, the Drua lads drill this stuff all week. Sure my heart took a wee knock during that Chiefs flick, but I've seen worse decisions from my own back line over the years 😉 when the timing's trained it lands more often than it doesn't, and one intercept doesn't rewrite the whole game plan.

Both of you are right, which is the annoying part. Drilled skill, yes, but the sample per season is tiny, so one intercept swings the whole story. 📊

Sure my heart took a wee knock during that Chiefs…@FrontRow88 the nostalgia angle doesn't actually settle anything. Sure, the old sides chucked those passes too, but nobody filmed every attempt, so survivor bias is doing a lot of work in your memory. The Drua though, every offload that sticks and every 50/50 hospital pass that gets gorged on gets recorded and counted. So how do we know the drills are working? Per-season sample's tiny, which FixIsInPTSD already said, so show me the intercept rate per offload versus the rest of the comp over at least three seasons. If it's not worse than average, I'll concede the timing is coached. If it is worse, then it's vibes with better marketing. Receipts please.Hype isn't an argument.
