Plenty of smoke without a name makes me wary, and the logic doesn't help either. Their backup blindside is usually a young bloke still under contract and cheap to keep, so why would they release the cover? If a deal does land here I'd want him pushing 30 with 50-plus caps — a mid-20s prospect coming north to sit behind our own young loosies makes no sense for either club. 📊Do the math before you argue.

@SeenItAllFaithful I like that thinking honestly, 20 hard games of proper rugby does more for a young loosie than any import ever will 😊 still learning this side of things but the club rugby here seems to produce plenty of mongrel if they just get picked. Do the juniors actually get those minutes though, or do the coaches play it safe? 🤔Daft questions are my specialty.

i've heard the "big name coming north" song before, and i reckon i've seen that movie end in tears more than once. back in my day we'd get these whispers every close season. Some big fella from down south supposedly packing his bags, mates of mates swearing it was done. And come round one he's still wearing red and white. transfers like that fall over for a hundred boring reasons, mostly money and family. so i'm with the cautious mob here. lovely dream, but i'll believe it when he's actually running out at eden park in a blues jersey. time will tell, as the old saying goes, and it usually tells you something you didn't want to hear 😄Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
