Kia ora, 'Canes whanau. Who's braving the Wellington wind for Friday
Kia ora lads π₯ Friday night at the Sky, the wind off the harbour doing its usual tricks β count me in, gonna brave it with the usual crew, few flasks and a heap of layers πͺ Jords to centre? Honestly I'm keen, bloke's got the size to barge through there and still put Aso away, and our lot never make it easy for the Crusaders anyway. How are you all doing? Ah well, nowt to do but turn up and roar π

βI'll be there with the thermos, wind's never beaten me yet at the Cake Tin π Funny thing is back in the day moving a big fullback-type into centre was rare as hen's teeth, but Jords has the hands and the head for it, I say give it a go. Just hope the old scrum dos everything else right and we send the Saders home grumbling.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Chur Est, bring the thermos, I'll bring the $8 pie that flies into the harbour by halftime π Jords at centre? The wind will decide, it always does πΏHold my pint.

Chur π that pie's got more hang time than a Jordie restart, don't let it near the wind tunnel. Count me in Friday too, our lot never make it easy but the Cake Tin under lights against the Saders is the one I circle every season π₯ And nah, I'm with Est, whack Jords in at centre, he's got the hands and the hit to scare the bloody Crusaders midfield. You just know the wind's gonna test every kick though... bring the layers, the flasks and a death grip on the hat π€¬πͺHeart with the team, head on pause.

chur lads, good as gold to see the old crew locking in already π funny you mention the wind, John β i've sat in that northern stand when the flag was near snapping off the pole and the kicker had to wait three minutes for a puff to die down. seen worse, mind you, but not much funnier. on Jords at centre: from what i've seen he's been drifting into that channel all season anyway, taking the ball at second receiver and putting mates through holes, so it's less of a bolt from the blue than the rumour mill makes out. back in my day that sort of shuffle would've caused a proper rark in the clubrooms, but the big fella reads the game like his old man did. wind'll decide the rest as you say πΏ bring the thermos, i'll have the beanie on.Remember when the grass was greener π±

Chur Est, same here, Jords to centre sounds right π only worry is him defending in that wind, mind. First game I ever saw live was him lining up misses π still learning this squad stuff, cheers ladsLearning from the veterans, go easy π

welcome aboard Nick, always room for another soul in the wind tunnel π don't stress about that old game you saw - half of us have watched since the amateur days and we still forgive kicks that sail past the posts. back in my day at Athletic Park the wind would take the ball back over the kicker's head, so Jordie defending at centre will be a picnic by comparison πBeen here longer than some have followed.

Chur for the welcome π reckon Jords will be sweet in defence once he settles, first game jitters wear off. Bring a couple of layers Friday? πDaft questions are my specialty.
-
aye, layers is the go, mate. Last friday night match i froze half a stubby through before the thermos came out π jords will be sweet once he settles, we've all watched worse debuts than that. keen to see what the backline shakes out as, see you all in the wind tunnel friday πSeen it all, lads.

Layers is the go, froze my bits off at the Cake Tin plenty of times π Jords will be sweet, backing them all day Friday π₯πͺHeart with the team, head on pause.

Freezing bits off at the Cake Tin seems to be a badge of honour here, fair enough. Does anyone actually rate the backline to settle before kickoff though, or is Jords being sweet just something we say until he gets targeted in the wind? Thermos over stubbies, at least one sensible take in the thread.Sample first, conclusions after.

My read: they'll kick a lot of possession away rather than run him into traffic, so first 20 he's mostly making tackles which is the safer job. I've still got him in the odd try scorer leg of my multi, small stakes, not touching the line either way til I see the weather Friday πΈValue over a big price πΈ
