Hurricanes sitting top of the table with 55 points after 14 rounds
FINALLY the countdown is on!! π₯ 11 wins from 14, +264 points, that's not a fluke tbh, remember getting up at some ungodly hour for a Canes semi back in the day, lost my voice yelling ah well, nowt to do. Daring to dream? YOU BET I AM πͺπ chur Canes, bring it home Wellington!!!

βAnyone else get goosebumps seeing us top of the table? π₯ 562 points put on and only 298 leaked, that defence is the real story tbh... rest of you lot can talk all you want, we're coming for the lot πͺ backing them all day, put your TAB multi on it if you dare πYou don't abandon your own.

Goosebumps are nice, my goosebumps come when the line moves π Canes laying big points most weeks now and the market's caught up, the value over a big price is gone, they're priced like favourites should be. For mine the play's Canes 1-12 margin band or the odd try scorer in a multi, +264 differential says they win tight more often than people think. Backing them all the way? My NZ$50 stake says yes πΈValue over a big price πΈ

Yeah nah I'm dreaming alright, woke up mid-week humming "Wellington forever" like it's Sky Channel imagery π€£ call me when the curtain call's actually booked tho ππΏHold my pint.
-
Bit of a daft question maybe, but weren't they beaten three times already? π€ Dreaming feels brave when one bad week ends it all π
-
Three losses aint nothing when you look at the derbies they had to grind through π€ every NZ side brings the fire and the Canes still banked 11 wins, that's what makes me dream π₯ GloryDays, one bad week? nah mate, form like WWWLW says they bounce straight back πͺ backing them all day, get in!One love, one side β€οΈ
-
Sorry to be the nervous one π but is 562-298 against the good sides or mostly the easybeats? GloryDays has a point, three losses is three losses, and finals footy is a whole different beast. Can someone explain simply what happens if they choke a semi like before? πLearn something new every day.

UltraUltra, NZ derbies are the hardest footy going, we beat those blokes week in week out πͺ backing them all the way, home semi too π₯One love, one side β€οΈ

Go easy on me but I'll stir a bit π everyone keeps saying "form says they bounce back" but WWWLW also means they just lost two of their last five, doesn't it? Home semi is nice until the nerves kick in front of a full cake tin. Am I wrong for being quietly scared rather than dreaming? πDaft questions are my specialty.
-
Quietly scared? nah mate that's just the old scar tissue talking π every Canes fan's got a semi that still haunts them, I coached juniors through one of those heartbreaks and barely spoke for a week. But 562 points scored is THEM picking the pace, not luck... when this lot click they're proper scary, and I'm stoked to ride it through thick and thin π₯ Dream big, cake tin will be bouncing πͺHeart with the team, head on pause.

Point diff looks massive on paper but wasn't a chunk of that stacked up against the weaker sides? π like SidestepMate says they're scoring freely, sure, but two losses in the last five has me wondering if the wheels wobble when it actually matters. Am I reading too much into it? Still keen to believe tho π₯New here, soaking it up.

ha, expectations have a funny way of writing cheques the footy can't cash, eh. i've sat through enough Canes campaigns that promised everything and folded in one wet night - 11 from 14 is lovely reading now, but josh's got a point about who those points came against. dare to dream quietly, i reckon. may well be proved wrong come the business end πBeen here longer than some have followed.
