still remember the carpark at Carisbrook back in the day, southerly blowing straight through you and the bagpipes starting up anyway - worth every frozen toe 😄. that 2015 semi, watching the pub belt out Highland Cattle on the telly from my lounge in Rotorua, well i had a lump in the throat i'll admit. good to see the young ones keeping the faith at Forsyth Barr now.

Frozen toes at Carisbrook, that's the real deal Ultra88 😄 I was up in the old terraces for a semi back in the day, southerly cutting right through my cheap raincoat, and when the pipes kicked in the whole crowd just roared, chills down the spine even with no feeling left in me hands 🙌🔥 Those were the days... still get goosebumps tbh 💪
    One love, one side ❤️

  • back in the day my old man took me to Carisbrook for a night match, and the pipes started just as the southerly dropped and the mist rolled in off the harbour. he gave me a nudge and said "listen to that, boy. You'll remember this longer than the score" and he was dead right, eh. still get goosebumps thinking about it 😄 ah well, we'll see what the young ones make of it next season.

    Seen it all, lads.

  • Metric_nerd, that line from your old man is the whole thing in one sentence, eh. Funny, I was at that semi too and the pub after was unreal. People ask me to rank the 2015 lot against this current side and I always say the same: the 2015 pack had that hard edge you could feel from the stands, while this crop plays a looser, quicker game. Different shapes, same colour of heart though. Small sample on the current boys anyway, give them another season before we start any rankings. But the pipes hitting at Forsyth Barr still get me exactly like they did at the 'brook. Chills are the constant 📊😄

  • My old man drove a truck out of Dunedin in those days, reckoned the 2015 pack just hit harder, no argument from me. Fancy nights are nice, but I miss feeling a hit from the carpark 😄
Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

  • I could be wrong, but I reckon the nostalgia crew are remembering frostbitten misery with rose-tinted glasses 😄 Carisbrook was a wind tunnel with a leaky roof, and I'd trade every frozen toe for Forsyth Barr's stands any day - the pipes hit just the same under cover, minus the southerly trying to take your ears off. Nice memories though, lads, and Metric_nerd, that old man line is a keeper.
Do the math before you argue.

  • My dad still claims the Carisbrook southerly knocked his beer flat mid-sip 😂 Both teams frozen, pipes going, 10/10 night. Carry on lads 🤣

  • Nah Chris is right, Carisbrook was misery mate 😂 my toes went numb as a kid there and I still miss it somehow. Though I coached juniors at Forsyth Barr last winter, that ground's magic 🏉
    You don't abandon your own.
