Still get chills remembering that 2015 run
Ten years on and I still get a lump in the throat thinking about that night in Wellington, watching from the couch because a trip south wasn't on the cards for this old truckie 😄 Ben and Marty with the boot, the boys holding on, back in my day we'd wait decades between trophies, so us older folks savoured every second of that 2015 run. Anyone else here make the pilgrimage to the Cake Tin that night?

✓Hard out. I was 15 cramming in front of the telly in Christchurch, screaming at Marty's kicks 😭🔥 dad and I hugged like munters when the whistle went 🙌In the stands since I was a kid.

i watched that final from my lounge in Dunedin with the old man's scarf draped over the telly, half for luck 😉 remember marty slotting them like he was kicking in the backyard, no nerves at all. funny thing is i'd nearly given up on the season after that loss to the crusaders mid-year, seen worse runs turned sour, but never one turned to gold like that. still get a chill when i hear the whistle from the replay 😄Been here longer than some have followed.

I still rate that 2015 side as the complete package, honestly, Ben and Marty with the boot, that pack just grinding teams down. This current mob have flashes of it, especially when the forwards get momentum, but we're missing that icy calm in the closing twenty. Give them another season or two and who knows, though. 📊Numbers > vibes.

I was 12 watching on the couch in Blenheim and I yelled so loud at Marty's second drop goal my old man thought the neighbour was being robbed 🤣 wore my scarf for like a week straight after, even to the woolshed, got roasted hard out. Absolute scenes though 😂🏆Came to laugh, stayed for life 🍿

Chills every time tbh, that final was pure ice from Marty 🔥 mate of mine still reckons he called the drop goal before it went over. Liar, but I let him have it 🙌In the stands since I was a kid.
