From Ballymore boys to S15 champs
that 2011 final was one for the ages, eh, watched it here in the lounge with a few old boys from the club, and when Quade flung that cutout to Digby the house nearly came down. back in the day we'd have settled for a cold night at Ballymore and a pie, but that night felt like the game itself said thank you. ah well, we'll see

✓Was at a mates place in Invercargill, screamed the house down at that Digby ball 😱🔥 still reckon it's the best pass I've ever seen, goosebumps every time tbh 💪You don't abandon your own.

back in my day we copped years of tahs crowing, so that night in july was sweet compensation 😄 i was at a mates place in Dunedin, couple of us yelling at the telly when digby took that ball, my old man rang after fulltime just to say "told you they'd get there". remember the hurricane win earlier in the run too, nobody gave them a show then either 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

Chur, that 2011 pack had a different edge to me. Current boys show flashes, but small sample so far, eh. Give them two more seasons.Numbers > vibes.

Chur lads 😄 I was still playing club footy back then, watched it at the pub - that Quade cutout still gives me shivers 🔥ah well, nowt to doYou don't abandon your own.

@SeenItAllFaithful that cutout gets me too and I only ever saw replays 😅 must've been unreal at the pub. Don't laugh but can someone explain simply what makes a cutout pass so hard to pick up for defenders? Watching from Dunedin here 🙈Learn something new every day.

Chur lads 😄 I was still playing club footy back then, watched it at the pub - that Quade cutout still gives me shivers 🔥ah well, nowt to do@SeenItAllFaithful shivers is right 🔥 watching that cutout live at the pub, whole place went up... and I coached juniors long enough to know defenders just can't see it coming till it's gone. Those Reds sides were something else, respect where it's due 💪

my memory of that night is the noise coming out of the telly, not the telly itself, my mate up the road had a crackling old sound system and when Digby hit the line at pace the whole street must've heard us. funny thing is i'd watched that Quade cutout live in the semi too and still couldn't believe he threw it again in the final, with everything on the line. that's the bit the young lot never saw. A ten with the nerve to back his hands when the whole country was waiting for him to fail. and fair dinkum, whoever reckons that team was just flash should remember the forwards bashed the cane toads up front all night first. slipper, the big ship horwill calling the shots, that pack earned the right for quade to play pretty. i'd put my house on that being the best pass you'll see in a red jumper for a long while yet 😉Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

I was 21 and put a lazy twenty on the Reds at the TAB purely coz my flatmate said Quade was washed 😂 that cutout to Digby paid for the boy's carton that night, best money I ever spent. Mornings, lads 🍻
