Does an All Blacks bolter really exist if Wellington's pack is

66 points in Christchurch and somehow people still reckon a Lion bolter is hiding in there? πŸ˜‚ The pack got shipped 28:52 by Northland at home too, that's three straight, mate. Anyone from that front row touching an All Black jersey before Waikato and Taranaki is a dream. In reality, would you even back them with your own NZ$ right now?

Three losses is a fair stick to beat them with, but I'd pump the brakes a bit before calling it settled. A 66-point rout away and a home flogging by Northland tell you about the pack's collective form right now, though selection panels tend to weight the last two fixtures (Waikato at Hnry Stadium, Taranaki away) as much as the previous three. Small sample across five rounds, and I've seen a Lion forward play his way into the squad off a September collapse before. So no, I wouldn't rule a bolter out just yet, I'd wait for those two results.

  • Funny thing is, seen worse Wellington packs than this and they still turned up in the big games. But 66 in Christchurch, no, no bolter coming out of that scrum while it leaks like that. πŸ˜‰

    Seen it all, lads.

  • Nah 66 in Christchurch ends the debate for me tbh 🀬 Leak 52 at home after that and you're no AB, simple ah well, nowt to do

  • I keep my own table for this stuff and the sequence matters as much as the scores: 28:42 at Tasman, then 19:66 in Christchurch, then 52 at Hnry Stadium. Three weeks, and the defence has got worse each time, which is the bit that would worry me if I were a selector. Waikato at home and Taranaki away give a forward maybe two shots to change the story, and I could be wrong, but I doubt one clean scrum session flips it.
Do the math before you argue.

  • FrontRowFan's got it right about the defence getting worse every week πŸ”₯ agree tbh, no Lion forward deserves a call while they're leaking like that. Only caveat is Waikato at Hnry Stadium could flip it, coached a couple of these juniors who reckon the boys are filth at training, just not putting it together on Saturdays 🀬 backing them all day but selectors won't care about training paddock tales.

  • Watched the Northland match at Hnry Stadium and the lineout was the real giveaway, not just the 52. Waikato at home on the 27th tells us more than the Canterbury score ever will, small sample though three games are. πŸ“Š

  • Yeah BootToBallGuru, Waikato on the 27th is the real test πŸ”₯ I coached juniors all weekend but still watched that lineout shambles, reckon you're right. Taranaki away after? ah well, nowt to do

  • Bloke up front for Wellington would need to be eating All Blacks selectors' dreams at training to survive that 66, and he isn't. Even the Waikato diehards in here are basically pre-excusing the 27th. 😏
    Any stat can be bent.
