Remember when North Harbour Stadium shook the night we lifted it?
I remember that night like it was yesterday, mates - 1994, the NPC final at Albany, and the whole place just lifting off the ground when we got it done. Back in my day you'd park down Oteha Valley Road and walk in with the crowd singing, and that roar after fulltime... honestly reckon they heard it from the motorway. Old school footy, proper night.
What gets me is how the ground felt small enough that everyone knew everyone, but loud enough to scare the visitors. Seen worse nights since, plenty of them, but none that shook quite like that one. Young ones on here won't remember it, more's the pity, but trust me, nights like that are why you stick with a club through the lean years 😉

What gets me still, Tom, is how the whole North Shore seemed to be out on the footpaths that night. Strangers hugging at the bus stops down Oteha Valley Road like they'd known each other for years 😄 watch as long as I have and you'll get it: nights like that come maybe once, and we were lucky ours landed in '94. Seen worse seasons since, but none that made the walls shake like that roar.Been here longer than some have followed.

Chur, my old man reckons he still tells strangers at the TAB about that roar 😂 born way after '94 myself but the story gets louder every year 🤣@UnderdogNightmare that's what footy's all about tbh 😍 wish we had a night like that down here, juniors I coach still talk about finals days like that 🔥💪One love, one side ❤️

Funny thing is I've landed decent multis since and none of them stuck in the head like a night where strangers hug at bus stops 🔥Up one week, down the next. Classic.

Word going round the club still is that a few of the boys knew something was on that season before anyone else did 😏 won't say more than that, those who know, know. Never seen a crowd carry a ground like that. My old man reckons the noise off the Shore that night could be heard past the bridge, and honestly I believe him. Nights like that, you can't buy them, no matter what the punter put on at the TAB. 🤫Screenshot this.
