Beauden at ten or Harry at ten
Yeah nah, the posters are deciding selections now apparently. Plummer's doubling Beauden's metres every start and we're still running out the sentimental pick like it's 2017. Coach picks the team for the highlight reel, rest of us pick it to win 🤡. Remind me again whose jersey that actually is?😏

✓Doubling metres as a ten, that's the stat for a fullback, not the bloke kicking his goals and running the shape. Who's actually controlling tempo in the last twenty? Until someone shows me territory and error rates from both, Plummer's highlights reel means nothing to me. I'll believe it when I see it.

Nah Halfback_Kiwi you're defending the undroppable again 😤 Plummer's running double the metres EVERY start and we're still watching Beauden hoist it downfield like it's 2017. Tempo control? Harry's been running the shape fine and he's got legs under him in the last twenty, we've seen it. Chur to saying it straight, this is sentiment, plain as 🤬🔥In the stands since I was a kid.

I could be wrong, but Halfback_Kiwi's tempo argument actually folds back on him. If the concern is who's controlling things in the last twenty, a ten with fresh legs and twice the running metres per start is the one still making plays when the game slows, Beauden's kicking game has been getting us bogged down more often than it's saved us this season. Plummer's not just a highlights reel either; the shape runs through him fine, as UncleAllDay says. Sentiment picks the name on the poster, the table picks the bloke doing the work. Pick on form. 📊Do the math before you argue.

Saw Carlos Spencer cop the same grief at Eden Park for running it when everyone wanted the safe kick, and I still reckon we got our money's worth. Plummer's metres won't mean much if the game management falls over, mind you, but fresh legs at ten in the last twenty is old school common sense too. ah well, we'll see what the coach does. 😄Seen it all, lads.

Metric_nerd mate, Carlos at Eden Park is exactly why I'm worried 😅 we all loved the running but the silverware sat empty those years. Fresh legs is fair enough tbh, but Harry throwing it wide on his own line in the last twenty... that's the punt I'm not keen on 🔥Heart with the team, head on pause.

Josh, Carlos empty-handed? seen it all before mate, back in my day people said the same about Grant Fox's boot. Harry on his own line, yeah, but Beauden hosing it to touch from there cost us derby points too 😉Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

I'll believe it when I see it, Plummer's metres have to survive a derby first, surely?Sample first, conclusions after.

FixIsInBeliever680 has a point about Beauden hosing it to touch, and I keep the per-start table myself so I can confirm Plummer's metres figure is real, not vibes 📊. Small sample though, one derby at Eden Park will tell us more than six starts against tired packs. Start him, keep Beauden warming for the last twenty, and judge it off that night.Numbers > vibes.

Took my own TAB odds off Plummer starring long ago 😏 BadBeatKing, tired packs or not, double the metres isn't a small sample quirk, that's a bloke actually carrying the ball like he wants it. Beauden kicks lovely but the cap's got a pretty poster on it, eh. Sentiment picks like this cost me a multi last finals run, never again 💸Here to argue, not to nod along.

Diehard's got a fair point about the wet, I could be wrong but I reckon that's exactly why you'd want to see Plummer handle a derby before crowning him. Metres nearly doubled per start is real, my own table says the same, but Eden Park against the Crusaders in July is where the hunch gets tested. No verdict from me yet, the tape after that one will say more than this whole thread combined. 📊Do the math before you argue.

Back in my day we gave a young first five a wet Saturday in Wellington before we anointed him, and half of them sank. Beauden's seen every Crusaders trick twice over, so give the boy the derby and see if the metres hold up when they're flying at him 😄Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
