Be honest, Force family: is our whole game plan just 'kick for the
Honestly the corner-kicking works fine until the lineout maul turns into confetti, which it does about every third throw. Worst return in the comp from territory we actually win, and I still watch hoping this week is different. Smart footy if you've got the punch to finish it. We don't, so yeah, pray away 😏

If the maul's really that leaky, the kicking's fine and the set-piece coaching isn't.

Nah the kicking's fine, the maul just goes to confetti too often 😤 Fix the throw and we're sweet. Heart says keep backing the corner 💪🔥In the stands since I was a kid.

Gate's got a point that the "every third throw" needs a source, but the honest answer sits in between. The kicking itself is defensible, we're the top Aussie side for territory this season and that's the right choice when you've got a lineout worth backing. The problem is what happens after. Our conversion rate from those attacking lineouts is the worst in the comp, which means the strategy's sound and the execution isn't. Two separate problems, and people keep arguing about the wrong one. So I'd side with the kicking is smart, coaching isn't camp here, but with a caveat for Gate: if the maul really does fall over that often, then the throw and the calls need fixing before I'd call any of it clever. 📊 I keep my own count each round and the pattern's hard to argue with, territory won, points not scored. A corner entry that ends in a turnover at the tail is worth less than a mid-field reset, and until the set piece holds up, we're praying more than playing.Do the math before you argue.

back in the day the old school sides kicked to the corner only when the forwards could back it up, and mate, ours could. seen worse mauls than ours though, and TaurangaBro's right, the territory's fine, the finishing is where it all falls over. fix the throw and the rest sorts itself, ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.

Sitting here with my round-by-round sheet open and I still can't make the two halves of it agree 📊 TaurangaBro's framing is the closest thing to a fair read so far. Top Aussie side for territory means the kicking call itself is right, you don't hammer the ball downfield all season by accident. But the return from those lineouts being the worst in the comp is a proper hole, and I've got no source for the "every third throw" figure either, Gate is right to ask. What I'd want before anyone plants a flag: tries per lineout inside the 22, split by caught-and-driven versus off-the-top. If the maul is the failure point then the throw and the lifters are the fix. If the off-the-top attacks are also stalling, then the problem runs deeper than hooker radar and the coaches need to look at the plays called after the catch. Until someone can pull that split, I'm keeping both columns of my table open and arguing with myself weekly. Anyone got the actual figures?
