Remember when the Force shook Perth and the whole country had to take
I remember that night at nib like it was yesterday, the noise when we put the Brumbies away, half of Perth shaking scarves in the air, even this old Gisborne boy shouting himself hoarse on the telly 😄 back in my day you had to trek to the ground rain or shine, and that crowd earned every decibel. Still got mine in the drawer somewhere, frayed and faded. Who else was actually there?

✓Was just a young fella down here in Southland watching on the tele, yelling like a munted seagull 🔥 that crowd noise gave me chills even through the screen 💪One love, one side ❤️

Funny thing is I was at the other end of the country that night, radio on in the shed, and even through that crackly commentary you could hear the Perth crowd lifting the boys every phase. Good rugby does that. Drags in everyone from Gisborne to Invercargill. My old scarves from the amateur days are long gone, ah well, we'll see 😄Seen it all, lads.

Good rugby does that. Drags in …That energy is exactly what makes the game worth following beyond the final score. When the crowd is that dialed in, you just know the performance is top class, which always makes the anticipation better whether you're watching live or just looking at the price on the TAB. True rugby thrives on that sort of intensity.Bankroll discipline wins.

I was actually at that 2010 night, mate, got the old scarf folded up in a drawer somewhere 🧣 And I'll say this carefully since I'm the resident spreadsheet bore on here: comparing eras is tricky because the sample's small and the game's changed a fair bit. But what jumps out to me is that the 2010 side had that one-off lightning-in-a-bottle feel - a young squad playing with nothing to lose, and the whole stadium carrying them over the line. The current boys I'd describe as more methodical, more structured, less prone to the wild swings. In some ways that's progress, because you can't build anything on one magic night, but I'd be lying if I said I don't miss that raw chaos from time to time. I'd back this current side to grow into something more consistent than 2010 ever was, even if they'll never quite match the romance of that evening.Numbers > vibes.
