Who's in for Hawke's Bay at Pukekohe on October 3?
GET IN!!! π₯π₯ that Northland win had me yelling at the telly, 22:19 down the wire and the boys held on. That's the sort of guts you can't coach tbh. After the Southland demolition I honestly thought the Otago game was gonna be the pattern again, but nah, they dug in πͺ
October 3, Pukekohe, Navigation Homes under lights vs Hawke's Bay. Counting down already. Steamers defence travelling north was one thing, backing it up at home where the crowd gets behind them is another level π. Remember that Junior club trip we did to Pukekohe years ago? Place absolutely roars when the Moodies start lifting. Ah well, nowt to do but wait, see yous there! π±π₯

βHawke's Bay fans creeping into this thread already π that 22:19 scrap up north was pure heart, but 50 put on us by Otago a week earlier still gives me nightmares ngl. Still, Pukekohe on Oct 3, you just know the boys will turn up π₯ backing them all day - see youse there, bring a jacket, the wind off that ground is brutal πIn the stands since I was a kid.

Keen to see where the TAB opens this line, because TaurangaNZ has a point, that 21:50 from Otago will still be baked into the price even after the 22:20 guts job up north. For mine the value sits with Counties at home if punters overreact to the Northland win and drag the number out; 47:24 vs Southland says the upside is real when they click. Not putting a cent of the weekend multi on till I see the opening figure though πΈBankroll discipline wins.

This team's got me emotionally whiplashed worse than a cat video playlist π€£π one week we're chocka, next we're the warm-up act for Otago. Pukekohe October 3, bring snacks πΏHold my pint.
-
Whiplash is right π but that Northland win tells me the bounce is back... Hawke's Bay at the Navigation won't know what hit em π₯πͺHeart with the team, head on pause.
-
Bit worried we're getting ahead of ourselves after one close one, no offence π Otago put 50 on us not long ago. Still keen for Pukekohe though, still learning this team's moods hahaDaft questions are my specialty.

Ouch, that 47:24 still stings mate π€¬ but fair play, we were poor that day. Gramps has a point tho - Otago put 50 on yous. Hawke's Bay away form will tell π₯One love, one side β€οΈ
-
Fair warning from Gramps tbh, one tight win doesn't erase that Otago game π€ am I wrong to think Hawke's Bay at Pukekohe could go either way? πDumb questions are my specialty.

Gramps and TaurangaMad talking sense tbh π one gritty 22:19 doesn't wipe out that Otago nightmare, that was hard to watch π€¬ but here's my take, holding on away at Northland after blowing leads all month says something about the mindset. September started with us putting 47 on Southland and it all went sideways after, so maybe the boys finally learned how to close one out. Backing them at the Navigation regardless, we always lift there πͺ Hawke's Bay are no mugs tho, could easily go either way. Gonna be there Saturday whatever happens, through thick and thin ππ₯

But that Otago game was at home too, so does Pukekohe even help us? π can someone explain simply why everyone thinks home ground swings it? πLearn something new every day.
-
UltraUltra mate, Pukekohe only roars if we turn up π after that Northland hold, Navigation Homes better be packed or the boys are on their own... backing them π₯πͺOne love, one side β€οΈ

Don't laugh, guys, but did Northland just run out of legs in the last ten? π Everyone's calling 22:19 "guts", and maybe it was, but Hawke's Bay might be a different kettle of fish. So is home advantage actually a thing here or are we just hoping? π Still learning this level of footy tbh.Learning from the veterans, go easy π

Mate I'm a Bay boy through and through, coming down from Napier way for this one... after that 22:19 scrap up north the Steelers are buzzing but they conceded 50 and 43 earlier in the month, and we'll punish that π± get in if you're travelling, Pukekohe's a decent shout for us, plenty of Bay transplants round there π₯πͺOne love, one side β€οΈ

Mike, don't laugh at us Steelers fans but if we're so prone to leaking 40-50 a game, why's your Bay side the one travelling down as underdogs? π A home crowd only counts if the boys front up like they did against Southland, not like the Otago night. Keen to see which team actually shows up on the 3rd πNew here, soaking it up.

that otago night was a hard watch, i'll admit, i was there in the lounge yelling at the telly and my mrs told me to settle down π back in my day at Eden Park you learned pretty quick that one good win means nothing until you back it up. young fella Josh has a point though, the same side that put 47 on Southland leaked 50 to Otago a week later. seen worse swings than that, but not many. expectations are funny things in the Bunnings NPC; a few of the punters had us written off before Northland and look how that turned out. Hawke's Bay will come down confident and they're entitled to be. honest answer, mate: nobody really knows which Steelers side turns up on the 3rd, and that's half the reason i'll be making the trip up. πBeen here longer than some have followed.
