Pukekohe under lights on 3 October
FINALLY, lights on at Pukekohe and a proper opponent coming to town π₯π
Nicked it up north last weekend, smashed Southland the week before, we're riding a wave lads, no doubt about it. Yeah, Otago and Auckland stung us but forget those, that's old news. Navigation Homes under lights should be HUMMING, Hawke's Bay won't know what hit em πͺ
Back the Steppers all day. Get in! π€¬π₯

Took the Steppers +7 at Northland last Saturday and it landed by a point, so I'm warm on them π But honest read: two wins against Northland and Southland, then Otago put 50 on them at home. The TAB opened Hawke's Bay around 6.5 and the line has crept toward 8, that movement says the sharp money's on the Bay, not the crowd noise. Value's probably in the margin bands rather than the head-to-head. Backing Counties straight up at around $2.40 feels like paying for the Pukekohe atmosphere; the Bay off the line at decent odds is where I'd put my NZ$. Maybe a small nibble on the Steppers +8 to hedge the vibe. Not loading up this one π₯Bankroll discipline wins.

Poured pints through the whole Southland demolition, couldn't stop grinning like a munter π€£ Pukekohe under lights, me sniffing the bar fridge by kickoff. Great night incoming πHold my pint.

Sorry if this is a daft question, but am I the only one still worried? π Maybe I'm wrong, but Otago put 50 on them at home not long ago and everyone's acting like that never happened. Two good wins and suddenly we're riding a wave? Still learning this, so happy to be told why I'm overthinking it π€πLearn something new every day.

Sorry, don't want to be that guy π but "you just know" isn't really an argument is it? Auckland and Otago scored plenty against us too π€Learn something new every day.

Look, I've been watching this game since before Pukekohe even had lights worth the name, and let me tell you, I've seen waves like this roll in and go right back out. Back in my day the old boys used to say a team's only as good as its last scrum, and there's something in that. The Northland win was proper graft, mind, 22:19 up in Whangarei is never easy. But then I remember that Otago night where 50 went on us at our own patch, barely two weeks back. Same side, give or take. NickLegend's got a point the youngsters keep forgetting - Auckland and Otago both had their fun against us this season. Expectations are funny things; they build you up on a Thursday and knock you flat by Saturday. Hawke's Bay will come to run it, and if the Steppers' forwards turn up like they did against Southland, could be a lovely night under the lights. If they turn up like they did against Otago... well. Seen it all before, one way or the other π anyone care to call it?Remember when the grass was greener π±
