Still remember that first night at Members Equity
i remember watching that debut night from my couch in Dunedin, 2006, and thinking Perth had finally got itself a real team to yell for π the noise coming through the telly that night was something else, reminded me of the old eden park nights back in my day. still get a bit of a lump thinking about that crowd singing their hearts out, seen worse sights than a whole city falling in love with a team at first sight π

βWas up in WhangΔrei that night watching on the box with my old man, the noise through the telly gave me goosebumps π₯ Perth got a proper home that night, no doubt πͺOne love, one side β€οΈ

chur, now that takes me back π you lads had a roar like a proper old-school crowd that night. Perth finally had something to sing about, and you could feel it right through the telly.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

I was at the ground that night in 2006 and I've kept the comparison running in my head ever since, so here it is calmly. That first side had a raw edge, nobody gave them a chance, the crowd carried them, and every win felt like a party. The current side is more settled and better drilled; they actually expect to be competitive week to week, which the 2006 boys could never quite assume. I could be wrong, but I'd say the old team had the bigger heart, the new one has the better structure. What hasn't changed is the feeling on a home night, you still get that same swell in the stands when the boys run out. Different era, same club soul. Keen to hear whether the older heads here would take the 2006 spirit or the current depth. πDo the math before you argue.

I could be wrong, but I reckon novelty wears off fast and only sustained results rebuild that feeling. FullbackNut, my honest answer to your question is that it's a culture thing, and those take years, not one magic night.Do the math before you argue.

π my old man reckons I yelled so loud that night the neighbours rang. Worth it, great noise πΏMemes are analysis too.

@RobbedAgainEnjoyer your old man rang? Did he put a lazy NZ$5 on them that night and cry when the neighbours beat him to the story? πHere to argue, not to nod along.
