Friday night at the Fortress, lads
G'day lads, Friday's nearly here and I'm already buzzing π₯ Pub from 5pm, NZ$15 jugs before kickoff - get in! I'll grab a seat early and yes I'm bringing the pies, someone else sort the scarves, ah well, nowt to do if you forget yours πͺ Who's yelling loudest at the scrum then?

βBloody good memory, Friday nights at the Fortress. back in the day we used to queue outside the old member's gate with a pie in one hand and a flask in the other, none of these fancy jug deals, NZ$15 would've got you a ticket AND a pie back then π I'll be at the pub by quarter past five like clockwork, happy to shout the first round of jugs if someone else sorts the scarves. And mate, when the scrum packs down I'll be on my feet. Seen worse front rows than ours, plenty worse, but few that get the crowd going like this lot. Bring the noise lads, see you Friday π

Lee mate if you forget the scarf again I'm bringing a spare and charging you a NZ$20 emotional damages fee π FrontRow those old queue stories are gold, bet your flask was half tea half courage πͺ See you all at the pub from 5, first jug's on me, get in! π₯π

Jugs at NZ$15 before kickoff sounds dangerous π still learning the pub rituals here, but I'll be there from five - just don't laugh if I ask which scarf trick everyone's on about π

Ha, someone finally said the flask out loud π that's the way it was done back in the day - half tea, half something stronger for the cold nights, and nobody batted an eyelid. I'll be there from five too, and TrueBeliever mate don't you worry about the scarf business, we'll sort you out, it's less a trick and more an old jinx some of us still obey. One thing I'll say though, being up the front near the scrum calls takes a bit of stamina these days, I'm retired and my voice gives out by the seventy-minute mark, so the young fellas better carry the shouting. See you all across the road, save me a pie if they go quick. ah well, we'll see πSeen it all, lads.

TrueBelieverLoyal mate I asked the same scarf question last year, don't worry π See you all Friday from five, first NZ$15 jug's calling my name πNew here, soaking it up.

Josh mate, good on ya for looking after the new fellas, that's how it's done π And TrueBelieverLoyal, the scarf trick's simple: someone always swears they packed theirs and it's sitting on the kitchen bench back home, so there's always a spare doing the rounds. Keep the young ones away from the jugs though, back in my day we learned that lesson the hard way at the old fortress nights πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Ha, the kitchen bench bit is too real π my first game at the Fortress I froze the whole second half because mine was on the clothesline at home. I'll bring a spare scarf Friday, and can someone else handle the pies since SeenItAllFaithful's got that covered? What time are people heading over from the pub, 15 minutes before kickoff or earlier? πLearning from the veterans, go easy π

clothesline at home, that's the real rookie experience, lad π i'll shout the first round of jugs at five since young josh reckons he's shouting his, no sense letting the poor fella ruin himself on NZ$15 before kickoff. see you all there, scarves and all. πRemember when the grass was greener π±
