Still humming 'Chiefs Country'
still get goosebumps thinking about those two nights in hamilton, hard out. back in my day you had to fight for a spot on the terrace at eden park, but 2012 at waikato stadium beat anything i'd seen, sonny bill flicking those offloads out the back of his hand and the whole ground lifting. and craig wing walking off to that send-off, grown men around me tearing up 😄 good days, ehh.

watching those nights from my couch down here in Dunedin, shouting at the telly like the boys could hear me 😄 the thing i remember most is the noise after craig wing's farewell, grown men around me blinking back a bit of something. funny how a offload out the back of the hand can still give you goosebumps years later, aye.Been here longer than some have followed.

There's something about that 2012 side that the current team can't quite replicate yet, and I've been mulling it over watching this season's matches. That pack had a nastiness up front - Bully, Mealamu's wall of defence, and then Sonny Bill turning second-phase into an art form. The present boys have speed and skill to burn, but I keep waiting for them to put together a full 80 minutes in a final the way the old mob did. Even in 2013, when the Brumbies pushed us closer than most remember, the composure under pressure was superb. I could be wrong, and there's a nuance here because the game itself has changed since then, but I'd back that vintage lot in a straight head-to-head purely on set-piece grit. What gives me hope is that the current crew reminds me a bit of 2011 - talented, a year short. Give them another season and who knows. Still hum that chant when it comes on the radio, hard out 📊... alright, no spreadsheets this time, promise.Do the math before you argue.

Watched 2012 at a mate's flat, spilt a full pint celebrating that SBW no-looker — hold my pint became very literal 🤣😂 best NZ$8 laundry bill ever.@ChrisFan ha, an NZ$8 laundry bill for that memory sounds like a bargain to me 😅 I only caught the replays of that no-look offload years later (was a bit young in 2012) and I still don't understand how he saw the pass. Maybe I'm wrong, but that sort of thing can't be coached, right?
