I'd temper the hopes, fellas. Fijian wings with that sort of name recognition command serious coin and NZR has stretched its budget thin already, so a 2026 deal to Dunedin feels like a long shot on the cap alone. Position's a nuance too - we're after a centre and he's a wing, so unless the plan is a mid-career shift inside, it doesn't really answer our actual need. Small sample though, my info is one rumour deep.

Fix, mate, back in the day we heard the same hand-wringing before every decent signing and half of them got done anyway. Remember when everyone swore we couldn't afford this bloke or that bloke and the deal just quietly got announced the Monday after the final? Seen it all before. NZR stretches the budget every year like an old jersey, somehow it still fits. The cap maths angle I'll grant you, nobody outside the boardroom has those numbers, so we're all guessing down the pub. But writing it off before a whisper's been tested? I've watched that movie and the ending's usually a nice surprise. Seen worse paper talk …@UltraUltra not a daft question at all, I reckon it's a mix of contract stuff needing signing off first and clubs liking the drama-free reveal. My old flatmate worked admin at a provincial union and said leaks usually come from agents shopping the player around, so staying quiet protects the deal 🤔 someone correct me if I've got that wrong?Daft questions are my specialty.

Drives me mad but I reckon the silence usually means the deal's actually real 🤙One love, one side ❤️
