Word from the Perth training circles is our back row's one knock away from being paper thin, and apparently there's been quiet noises about a certain No.8 over this side of the ditch being sounded out. Won't say names till I hear it twice, but if it's who I think it is, the Blues would be filthy. Stranger things have happened lads, watch this space 😏

Honestly even if it's just pub talk I'm choosing to believe it 😂 one decent knock in the shallow end of our back row and we're cooked, so pinch whoever it is. What does he pick us over the Blues for? Game time from day one, Perth sun and a side that actually needs him, that's what. Ah well, nowt to do but hope the club's chequebook is ready 🏉One love, one side ❤️

Popped therumour into my little tracking sheet out of habit and honestly the sample of "quiet noises" rumours that turn into signings is tiny, maybe one in five over the last few seasons. A No.8 in his prime leaving the Blues for us usually only happens when game time or coin swings it, and I've got no actual figure on either, so I'm not pretending I know. If the age is under 27 and he's stuck behind depth at Auckland, plausible. Otherwise I'd hold off booking flights to Perth. 📊Numbers > vibes.

Watch as long as I have and you'll get it: every transfer window we get one of these whispers and half of them die by the time team photos are taken. Remember the big name we chased a few seasons back, everyone had him signed here, ended up across the Tasman without a peep. So I'll believe it when he's holding the jersey up. Time will tell 😄Been here longer than some have followed.
