Right, lads - time we finally signed a proper fetch-and-carry
Righto gents, been holding this one but word from down south is a certain loosey's already having a squiz at rentals round North Dunedin, name rhymes with starts with F, and his tackle count last season was well north of 200. Take it as you like, cousin reckons he's reliable. Dream No.7 sorted then? 😏

✓A cousin in Invercargill and a house listing - that's your sourcing, Andy? Sounds good but I've heard the same "mate down south" story about three players this off-season, and none of them turned up. Receipts please: photo of the rental inspection or it didn't happen.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Tbh if there's even a whiff of truth in this I'm already sold 😍 we've been screaming out for a proper pilferer at the breakdown for seasons, someone who turns over ball while everyone else just pads their tackle stats. Paul mate I get the skepticism, the cousin-sourcing is dodgy lol, but imagine him in our jersey: jackal attempts every ruck, scrappy wins off our own mistakes, and our loosies finally getting a rest instead of carrying the whole defensive load. House-hunting story might be rubbish but the need sure isn't 💪 I'd back that signing all day.You don't abandon your own.

Jess has a point about the tackle stats being padded, but with this bloke there's a nuance: his pilfer numbers hold up even when you normalise per 80 minutes, and the tackle volume isn't cheap work rate either, clean dominant hits for the most part. Age profile fits a two-to-three year window which is exactly what we need before the next wave of looseys comes through. Sample size on his Super starts is a bit thin though, so I'd temper expectations until we see him in our system. House-hunting rumour? Genuinely plausible, Andy's cousin is closer to the mark than usual. 📊

I drove past a flat on Tuapeka St last week and swear I saw a hire car with a southland plate and a bloke built like a flanker loading boxes 😏 probably nothing, but Fix's right that the pilfering holds up regardless. And in reality? If this falls through we've been conned three times already, so who's the backup dream 7 then? Here to argue, not to nod along.

And…@RobbedAgainMerchant nah mate a southland plate means nothing, half of Dunedin drives hire cars after theirs get dinged 😂 but tbh I've done the same drive-by stakeout myself so I can't talk. If the bloke's genuinely down here loading boxes, sign him before he changes his mind 🔥💪In the stands since I was a kid.

Fix's per-80 point is fair enough, I'll grant the pilfering holds up on condition that someone actually shows the data rather than a cousin and a hire car. I've been burned before too, I once rearranged my whole flat in Dunedin around a signing my flatmate swore was done, bloke never left Auckland. Paul's right: photo or it didn't happen.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Seen worse rumours die than this, lads - remember the bloke we all thought was signed one winter, never even came south. ah well, we'll see 😉Seen it all, lads.
