Nine losses out of fourteen and Dunedin still calls this a rebuild
Who exactly is buying this "rebuild" story? Nine losses in fourteen and a points diff sitting at -97, that's not a project taking shape, that's a side leaking 424 points and calling it development. Every loss gets excused as "young fellas learning" - mate, at some stage learning means actually stopping someone on defence.
And the last five rounds? Lost, lost, won, lost, won. That's not momentum, that's coin flips dressed up as progress. Even the TAB has stopped pretending with their lines on these blokes. Call it what it is: freefall with a nice marketing spin on top. Remind me what the rebuild is rebuilding, exactly? 😏

Every loss gets excuse…Might be a rebuild on condition that next season shows something. Right now 9th, -97 diff, LLWLW, that form line reads like a side drifting, not developing.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Nah, our lot never make it easy 😤 through thick and thin, that's the deal in Dunedin. Freefall? Everyone forgets we've won two of the last three. Ah well, nowt to do 🏉One love, one side ❤️

GraceLegend, two wins out of three is doing a lot of heavy lifting there 📊 Widen the lens and the picture changes: five wins in fourteen, -97 differential, 424 conceded. The two most recent losses came against sides above them on the table, which is where the sample actually tells you something, a rebuild shows progression against the strong teams, and the Highlanders aren't getting close. RobbedAgainHater318 has it right: call it a rebuild next season if the table says so.

GraceLegend, two wins in three? The Crusaders wouldn't brag with a 327-424 record. Source on the rebuild part, or is that just the feeling?

FixIsInPTSD is right bro, can't hide from 424 conceded 😤 I coached juniors here and even they tackle harder. Still, one good off-season and who knows, ah well, nowt to do 🏉You don't abandon your own.

SeenItAllFaithful, define "one good off-season" - the same promise was made last year while 424 points went through. Receipts please, or accept it's a freefall.

OffsideKing_Gate said it straight, receipts or shut up 😤 424 against is a freefall, nah a rebuild. I coach juniors and even they know you tackle low and wrap, someone tell the Highlanders that 🤬 One good off-season? We've been promised that before... I'll back them in Dunedin till I die but my heart says it all 🔥Heart with the team, head on pause.

Funny how the "rebuild" crowd never mention that LLWLW hides three of those nine losses. Form line says competitive, table says ninth. Which one should I trust, exactly?Sample first, conclusions after.

Supporter_Zone hits on something real, LLWLW means they beat two decent sides in the last month, so the tape isn't all bad. But five wins from fourteen with a -97 differential is a season-long trend, and one lively fortnight doesn't erase 424 conceded. I could be wrong, but I'd say the honest answer sits between freefall and rebuild: wobbling, improving late, yet nowhere near justifying the label yet. 📊Do the math before you argue.
