Be honest, lads - this season's Highlanders are more fun to watch
Cried a bit at that offload against the Crusaders, not going to lie - 40 metres of pure chaos off the base of the ruck and Forsyth Barr nearly took the roof off. That's the whole argument right there: this lot play like they've got nothing to lose, and half the time that's exactly what they lose. 😏
But and in reality? The 2015 boys ground out a title, that offload went into a defeat. Fun beats silverware in the pub, sure, same blokes saying it probably slapped a few NZ$ on the line each week and got burnt anyway. I'd take the grinding champs every day of the week; pretty rugby that ends 8th is just a lottery ticket with extra steps. 🤡

I'd take it, on condition you show the season actually measures up, show me the numbers.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Nah mate, that offload against the Crusaders at Forsyth Barr had the whole pub on chairs - I still get chills tbh 😱🔥 The 2015 boys ground you down, beautiful in its own way, but they never made your heart stop like that. Numbers? Fine, we're losing more, happy? But watching this lot throw it about against the Crusaders in a derby, playing like it means everything... that's why I've backed the Landers through thick and thin 💪 Skeptic fella, when did rugby become a spreadsheet? Get in, embrace the chaos 🙌One love, one side ❤️

Hater318, fair ask, but one moment of magic in a loss doesn't shift a season's numbers, small sample, and you know I keep the table. Fun ≠ better. 2015 still wins on results. 📊Numbers > vibes.

Seen worse arguments than this one, and enjoyed none of them more 😉 back in my day we called 2015 "efficient" and nobody complained because the shield stayed in Dunedin. Fun's a fair trade for a season like this one, but any punter who watched that Crusaders night knows both things can be true. Heart-stopping now, silverware then.Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Back in the day I queued round the block outside the pub in Rotorua for the 2015 final replay, and do you know what I remember most? The relief. Efficient, like someone said above. Relief isn't a Saturday night feeling, mates. Guru, with respect, you keep the table and the table kept 2015 well, but watch as long as I have and you'll get it: nobody rings their old footy mate twenty years on to talk about a grinding quarterfinal win. They ring about the night the pub nearly lost its roof at Forsyth Barr. That offload from the base against the Crusaders will get retold long after a mid-table points difference is forgotten. The young lot never saw that, but us greybeards know - great sides get medals, great nights get stories. This lot are giving us the stories, and I'd stoked rather have them any season of the week. 😉Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

I'll chip in as the bloke who actually logs every round, and here's where I've landed: Paul_Fan has half a point, because a trophy pays dividends for decades while that offload lives on replays. But SeenItAll_Guy's "relief" line is the sharpest thing written in this thread. I sat through the 2015 run white-knuckling every close-out, and I could be wrong, but I don't recall anyone at the pub laughing on the way home. This season we've lost games and still walked out grinning at the footy we'd watched. There's a nuance here, though: fun is a living sample and 2015 is a finished one, so they're not really competing on the same table. Ask me again in round fifteen whether Saturday nights still feel like this, and my answer might change. Until then I'm keeping both columns open in the spreadsheet. 📊Do the math before you argue.
