Otago
FINALLY a home game worth circling eh πŸ”₯ October 1, Auckland coming to Forsyth Barr, whole south gonna be there and so am I. Booked the day off work already, ah well, nowt to do about that. Problem is which Otago turns up?? 57 on Tasman then 50 away at Counties was unreal to watch πŸ’ͺπŸ™Œ but then 21 against Harbour and 24 down at Hawke's Bay had me hiding behind the couch tbh 🀬 If that tight, scrappy version shows up against Auckland we're in trouble. Heart says the roof, the crowd, the occasion drags the best out of them. Backing them all day regardless 😀 countdooooown!!

  • Checked the TAB already and the line's basically a coin flip with Auckland favoured at home altitude of prices 😭 those score swings scream "form is fake", so I'd only touch Otago off the line if they shorten past 6.5 β€” two massive home efforts, two flat away ones, and this one's under the roof. Small punt on Otago +5.5 feels like value over a big price on the straight win. πŸ’Έ

    Bankroll discipline wins.

  • This mob are SchrΓΆdinger's footy team, 57 on Tasman then 21 up in Auckland's neighbourhood a week later πŸ˜‚ mate I'm bringing binoculars to see which lot rock up 🍿
    Hold my pint.

  • ha, schrΓΆdinger's footy team made me chuckle πŸ˜„ that about sums it up. i'd only say this much young fellas β€” the tasman and counties games were at home or against sides lying down, that harbour loss showed what happens when the forwards get rolled early. back in my day we called it turning up with your gumboots on, and auckland in the roof will test exactly that. i'll be there anyway, 1 october, old habits 😊

  • Funny how the "real Otago" only shows up when the forwards aren't getting mauled, eh? Harbour proved that. Roof might even it out though 😏

  • MatchdayTillIDie nailed it, seen it too many times over the years, the maul sets the mood and everything else follows. back in my day at carisbrook you could hear the forwards struggling from the terraces πŸ˜„ only caveat i'd add is the roof: no southerly blowing through to hide behind, so if the pack goes backwards on october 1 there'll be nowhere to look but each other. still got my fingers crossed we see the tasman lot turn up.
    Otago fans
Been here longer than some have followed.

  • Funny thing, I've watched Otago sides flip like this since Carisbrook days. The form guide lies more often than it tells. Roof'll be rocking either way, eh πŸ˜‰
Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.
