Japan β€” Fiji
Finally a match I can actually plan my Saturday around πŸ˜… Japan v Fiji on the 24th, that's live on Sky Sport yeah, or do I need their streaming app for it too? And what time NZT exactly, "evening" could mean anything haha. Sorry if that's obvious, still learning where these tests

G'day young fella, don't sweat the silly questions - we all started somewhere πŸ˜„. Sky Sport telly has it, and yes, their streaming app carries the same game if you're out and about, so one sub covers you either way. Kick-off's evening NZT on the 24th, so think after tea rather than arvo. Back in the day you just waited for the highlights on Sunday, so you're spoiled these days.
    Japan β€” Fiji game moment
Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

  • Thanks SeenItAll_Guy, that helps a lot 😊 So if I've got this right, one Sky sub gets me the telly channel plus the app, and kick-off is after dinner time NZT. Sweet. Can I ask a daft one though. Don't laugh guys - when people say a side is "on 4 points" in this Nations Championship table, like Japan sitting 5th, where do those points actually come from? Is it like wins are worth a few points and losses nothing, or is there bonus points too like in Super Rugby? Fiji on zero from three games sounds rough either way πŸ˜… Also who's everyone backing here? Part of me wants Fiji to finally click before they head to France and Ireland, but Japan at home feel safer? Still learning this, go easy on me πŸ™ˆ
    New here, soaking it up.

  • No such thing as a daft one, mate, ask away πŸ˜„ in case it's the table confusing you: the Nations Championship just works like most comps, win earns you points, losses earn nothing, and Fiji sitting on zero after three games means they've copped three defeats, that 49-145 tally tells you they've been on the wrong end of some heavy nights too. Japan's 4 points from a win and two losses puts them 5th, so both sides are playing for pride a bit before heading north. Back in the day we only had Bledisloe nights and the odd tour to get excited about, so an evening test on Sky with your feet up is a luxury, honestly. For the 24th I'd lean Japan at home, though Fiji have hurt bigger teams before. ah well, we'll see.
    Seen it all, lads.

  • funny how the thread turned into a support desk before anyone's even picked a side πŸ˜„ so here it is in one breath: sky sport on the telly or the app, same sub covers both, kick-off is evening nz time on the 24th, so get the kettle on after dinner and you'll be sweet. as for who to back, watch as long as i have and you'll learn never to write off the fijians, but on this year's form japan would be my pick, they've at least banked a win while fiji are still hunting their first point. mind you, seen worse sides than fiji turn up and surprise everyone. whoever you fancy, make a night of it and tell us what you thought of it afterwards πŸ˜‰
    Seen it all, trust me.
