Waikato host Tasman at FMG Stadium Waikato on 3 October
FINALLY a home game worth circling on the calendar!! π₯ Wellington away first, sure, but Tasman in Hamilton on the 3rd is where our lot make a statement or get laughed at, that Canterbury night was ugly π± and Northland worse. After the Manawatu win the boys should be buzzing tho, get in! πͺπ Who's making the trip??

βI remember driving up for that Canterbury night and leaving gutted π± 14:36 at home, nah that was rough. But the Manawatu game showed some real fire π₯ Tasman fans in here chirping already, come the 3rd at FMG we'll see who's talking, you just know the boys owe us a big one πͺYou don't abandon your own.

Been eyeing the TAB line on this one already. Waikato at home usually gets respect, but after 14:36 and 17:34 in consecutive weeks I'm expecting the market to shade them short, and that's where I'd look. Two losses then a 36:27 fire-up? Line makers lag on form like that. Wouldn't load up yet until the Wellington away result lands, but if Tasman sit favourite I'll take the Waikato head-to-head at anything over evens πΈBankroll discipline wins.

Maybe a dumb one π but if the home crowd is such a magic fix, why did Canterbury leave Hamilton with 36 on the board? Wellington mate, you watched the Canterbury game with your eyes open at least π but here's my two cents, that Manawatu night showed me something the two hidings didn't: when our lot run it wide and actually hold onto the ball, the attack is real. 36 points don't fluke in. Problem was the weeks before we kept gifting turnovers and paid for every single one π Tasman won't be soft, they never are, but FMG under lights on the 3rd? If the forwards set the platform like they did against Manawatu, I reckon the crowd drags them over the line π₯πͺ Do I trust them to do it twice in a row tbh? Heart says yes, head shrugs... ah well, nowt to do π€·One love, one side β€οΈ

coaching juniors myself I'll tell ya, the Canterbury night was dead legs after travel week, no scramble at all π± but that Manawatu game the pace from the ruck was back and when we go wide with that sorta tempo Tasman's gonna hate it πͺ still says a lot the mob got bounced at WhangΔrei too ah well, nowt to do. been watching NPC footy since the days when a night in Hamilton meant a pie and a frosty and half the ground was on the mower's strip π the pattern with Waikato over the years never seems to change, one good night against Manawatu and suddenly everyone's pencilling in a semi, then a team like Tasman rolls in all quiet and grinds you down in the last twenty. seen worse stretches than two hidings, mind, but seen plenty of "statement games" that turned into quiet taxi rides home too. the ruck tempo Grace mentioned is real when it shows up, no arguing that. trouble is expectations are funny things, they'll tell you one story in September and a completely different one on the night. I'll be up watching regardless. what's your punt on it then, statement or stumble? πBeen here longer than some have followed.
