Remember when Semenoff Stadium shook the night we toppled the big
gday lads, been meaning to chip in on this one for ages. i was up visiting my cousin in whangarei that night, reckons he got me a seat with the locals and i never left 😄 first time at semenoff and honestly the old ground nearly lifted off its foundations in those last ten minutes. every hit-up the big boys made, the whole end just roared louder, like the crowd was doing the tackling too. my ears rang for two days and i'd pay double for the privilege.
back in my day you'd watch the big sides roll into town and think she'll be right, we'll sneak a look and go home quiet. not that night. boys held the line like their lives depended on it and the place knew it. still get a bit of a lump thinking about the fulltime whistle and everyone hugging strangers. chur northland, best night out in years 😉

Ha, I was down the far end that night and reckon my old bones haven't roared like that since the amateur days. That last lineout with everyone holding hands - magic 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

That night's mob defended like their lives depended on it. This current side has more talent, but I could be wrong. They lack that never-say-die edge yet. 📊Do the math before you argue.

Chris, fair call, but I'd say the current boys showed that edge in that final ten too - same roar, same held line. Maybe you're judging them a touch early. 📊Do the math before you argue.

Still got the sore throat memory from that night tbh 😂 my voice went around the 65th minute and never came back till the Tuesday. What stuck with me was the last scrum near our line, boys were buckling at the seams, whole ground roaring like a cyclone, and they still held it. I half turned away cos I couldn't watch, ended up peeking through my fingers like a muppet 🙈 Bit like the old hand-reach lineout you mentioned, just pure nerve and love for the jersey. Those nights are why you back a side through thick and thin, no matter the table. We'll get that roar again soon lads, I can feel it 💪🔥You don't abandon your own.

Lost my voice AND my beanie that night, chucked it in the air when the whistle went, never saw it again 🤣😂 Worth every degree of frostbite, great night lads.Memes are analysis too.

@UpsetKing_Nightmare a beanie casualty, that's a new one on me. Question though, would you chuck a new one in the air if this current lot actually win something worth shouting about, or is the wardrobe sacrifice a one-off for a genuinely big night?Sample first, conclusions after.

@UpsetKing_Nightmare a beanie is a small price for a night like that mate 🤣 I once lost my glasses doing the same at a Bledisloe game, spent the last ten mins living dangerously. Would defo sacrifice a new one.

Nice stories, but one heroic scrum doesn't prove the current side has that edge. Show me it over a full season and I'll concede. Maybe, mate, on condition they do it away from home too.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.
