Twenty-Nine Years of the Blue, Gold and Plaid
hard to pick one after all these years but i'll go with that night at Carisbrook when the fog rolled in so thick you couldn't see the far touchline. whole ground was laughing about it, bloke next to me reckoned the ref was guessing too. back in my day we just called it character building weather 😄
but if i'm being honest, the 2015 final is the one that stuck. watching Smithy lift that trophy in Wellington, an old fella like me half blubbing on the couch, my missus asking if i was right. watch as long as i have and you'll get it. nearly thirty years of blue and gold and plaid, seen worse days than that one, believe me. your turn, family. no cheating with two answers 😉

✓Fog at the Brook 😂 was there with my old man that night, froze solid and wouldn't have traded it for anything. Good pick mate 🔥🙌In the stands since I was a kid.

The Brook for me too, though I was up in the old wooden stand freezing while my old man swore at the fog like it was a player. Ah well, we'll see if the young fellas ever get nights like that 😄Seen it all, lads.

Only one allowed? 2015 for me, though I'd argue those fog-night sides had more mongrel. Young fellas are class but they haven't earned their ghost story yet 📊

Ha, Nicky choosing the one moment everyone under fifty picked, brave stuff 😄 You want mongrel, mate, watch the 2015 final first twenty minutes again. That hit Nasi Manu took when he cleaned out half the Canes pack, and he just got up and carried on. Fog nights are magic for stories, no argument, but a ghost story you can't pass on to your kids is a squib. My pick's Smithy holding that cup up with his arm bandaged like a rugger bugger at a wedding, and half of Logan Park roaring like it was the Brook all over again. Twenty-nine years, one trophy, worth every cold Wednesday night on the terrace 📊

Kev mentioning Nasi getting up after that hit gave me chills tbh 😱 I was in the terrace at Westpac that night and the noise when Smithy lifted it, still get goosebumps thinking about it. My old man had tears in his eyes and he'd been watching since '98 🙌 🔥Heart with the team, head on pause.

🤣 reading this thread with my brew and getting all misty over a fog story, how did that happen. My pick would've been the '15 final too but honestly my clearest memory is losing my voice by halftime and the missus charging me like a $50 taxi fare from Westpac afterwards. Bleeding blue and gold ever since, hard out 🍿😂Hold my pint.
