From Larkham's drop goal in '04 to tonight
i remember watching that final in canberra stadium; the way larkham slotted that drop goal in the death throes of the game still gives me the chills, mate. it feels like it was forever ago, but that night set a benchmark for what this club is all about. you just know what they're made of when something like that happens, eh.

✓Was only a kid on the couch with my old man that night, both of us screaming when it went over 😭 goosebumps every rewatch, mate. Colours for life 🏉💛

mate, you know what else sticks with me from that match? the absolute tension in the last fifteen minutes. sitting there, genuinely worried they were gonna squander all that hard work. that feeling of holding your breath when the game is hanging in the balance is just unforgettable stuff, isn't it?Seen it all, trust me.

Funny you mention the tension, because that's what I keep coming back to when people compare the sides. The '04 team knew how to close out a tight one, and the current crop is still learning that last fifteen minutes. The talent's there, honestly it might be deeper now, but they've got to earn a night like Larkham's before we rank them. Then I'll happily argue they're better 📊

Kev's got a point but I'd soften it a bit. Closing out tight ones is a craft and you can't teach it in a pre-season, you learn it by getting burned a few times. Back in my day the '04 mob had already lost their share of heartbreakers before Larkham slotted that one from 40 out, so when the moment came nobody panicked. This current side just hasn't banked enough of those nights yet. Give them a couple more tight finishes and a bit of scar tissue and they'll be cold as ice in the last fifteen 😉 goosebumps every rewatch for me too, mates 💛Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Eh, you blokes are acting like the current side's never been burned, hard out. Craft's still there, just waiting to show up. 🏉Do the math before you argue.
