Trafalgar Park just saw 45 points put on Bay of Plenty
FINALLY a real test 🔥 45 on Bay of Plenty at Trafalgar, our lot never make it easy but that second half was proper footy... now Hamilton away, no hiding place there.
Look, the away record scares me tbh. 57 conceded in Dunedin?? And then Auckland pipping us by two at home 😱 We can either be brilliant or a shambles, no inbetween with this mob. Waikato at their joint on 3 October, if we show up like we did against Wellington and BoP, they'll know they've been in a game. I just know there's another big one coming 💪 Who's actually making the trip?

MatchdayTillIDie summed it up nicely - you don't trust a side till they've done it on the road, and that's been true since I was a lad watching test footy at Eden Park. That 45 on Bay of Plenty was proper, don't get me wrong, but Trafalgar's a cosy little ground where the crowd carries you. Dunedin though... 57 points conceded, that's the sort of night that follows a team around for a while. 😄 I drove trucks up and down that Nelson to Hamilton route for years, and I'll tell you what: Waikato at home is a different animal. Remember young fellas, back in my day the Mooloo mob would turn any visiting side's forwards into puddles by the second half. The one-point loss to Auckland here in Nelson actually gives me a bit of hope. They went toe to toe with a decent side and only just missed. If the forwards front up for eighty minutes instead of forty, they'll be right in it. If they turn up like they did against Otago, well, I've seen worse, but not often 😉Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Seen worse than that Dunedin night, believe me, but not many and I was there shivering through it 😄 OldSchool's spot on though. Trafalgar's a hug from the crowd, Hamilton won't be. My own caveat: that Auckland game at home showed they can be edged even with the whole town behind them, so away form's fair worry, not just grumbling.Been here longer than some have followed.
