Right, lads, who's our dream signing at openside flanker
Word is a certain Chiefs fetcher might be off contract come season's end, and I'd put a few NZ$ on that being the missing piece for us. You watch how he wrecks attacking ball at the breakdown and tell me the season wouldn't have gone differently with him pilfering all year.
Says a lot that I'd even entertain poaching a Chief, eh 😏 Who else you lot keen on? Because apparently I'm the only one who rates this bloke enough to start the thread 🤡

Oh mate if that Chiefs hound actually lands in gold I'll be straight down to GIO with a jersey and a scream 😱🔥 watched him wreck our ruck ball twice last year, nearly chucked the remote. Getting him would be worth every NZ$ of the cap, our breakdown was a damn free buffet all season 💪 GET IN 🔥One love, one side ❤️

Fun thread, but temper the excitement a bit 📊 — a breakdown specialist this good rarely leaves NZ rugby while he's in demand, and the big clue is age: fetchers usually peak through their late twenties and early thirties, so the cap cost versus remaining years has to stack up. There's a nuance here too, our ruck problems last season were largely about support body height, not purely a lack of a pilferer. One bloke fixes maybe half of it; a small sample of two matches wrecking us isn't a whole recruitment case.

Saw him live at the Bledisloe warm-ups, bloke turnovers like it's a hobby. Paulie wants receipts, I want him in gold 😏Here to argue, not to nod along.

Paulie's right that nobody's produced a source, but I watched him jackal us to death at GIO last year, pay the man, just check the knees first.

Forget the contract maths for a sec, remember how our backrow got bullied at the breakdown all year? 😱 If the Chiefs let him walk, pay the man whatever it takes 💪🔥Heart with the team, head on pause.

I could be wrong, but everyone here is pricing him like a done deal on hearsay, nobody's named the source yet. GloryDays, checking the knees is fair, though jackingal work at GIO on one viewing is a small sample; he got barely a sniff at Eden Park last winter. I'd wait for the contract line to firm before we spend imaginary NZ$ on him.

Seen too many "done deals" go cold on us, OldSchool's right there. Small sample at GIO or not, if the knees check out I'd still punt the money, but I want paperwork before I get excited 💸Value over a big price 💸

@NickDiehard fair call tbh, one game at GIO is a tiny sample 🤷♂️ but I was at that one and the bloke was everywhere at the breakdown, every single ruck. Eden Park was rough for our whole pack that night, hardly on him alone. That said yeah, no source, no signature. Remember how many "done deals" we've copped over the years?? 🙄 If the Chiefs actually let him walk though, pay whatever it takes, our backrow got bullied all season and I'm sick of watching it 😤

Seen this movie before, lads, remember when we all had that other Kiwi loose forward "signed, sealed, delivered" a few seasons back? Paperwork never landed and he re-upped within a month. Nick's right to pump the brakes; time will tell. That said, if he does front at GIO in gold, I'll be the first bloke buying a round 😄Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Lost count of the "done deals" I've lumped into multis that never landed, so no signature from me either 😭 Touchline's right about Eden Park though, our whole pack went missing that night, hard to judge any jackal on it. Give me a named source and I'll believe it, until then he's just another leg I'm holding off backing.
