Kava's brewed, chairs out
Boys, kava's on the stove as I type, shells out on the bench under the awning already π how are we all travelling then?
Straight up question for the crowd though. Same backline again after they lit up the Crusaders in Suva, is that bravery from the coaches or are we rolling the dice in front of a wet Sydney crowd? You just know the Waratahs are gonna come breathing fire at home, and those boys lit up in Suva made it look easy. Rain in Auckland... sorry, rain in Sydney on a Saturday, tricky hands, slippery pill π±
Kava fund sits at a healthy bit over NZ$200 this week so we're safe for now, but a dodgy result and half the club suddenly "forgets" their contribution, am I wrong lads? π Chairs out Saturday, early start, bring a plate. Who's nervous? Be honest π₯

βGisborne's bucketing down right now so I'm picturing that Auckland Saturday already, ha. Keen to see them back the same boys though, back in my day we called that backing your mates and it usually worked out π kava fund should survive, NZ$5 doesn't buy what it used to anyway.Remember when the grass was greener π±

Nervous? Me? I've had three shells already and I'm claiming full credit if they torch the Tahs too π€£Memes are analysis too.

Same boys again is pure bravery tbh, they earned it π₯ save me a shell before the Auckland rain drinks the fund π πHeart with the team, head on pause.

Backing the same backline makes sense to me, you don't fix what battered the Crusaders. My only worry is a wet Auckland afternoon, ball goes slippery and that free-flowing stuff gets harder. Remember sitting under the old stand at Rotorua watching a dry-weather side come unstuck in the rain, seen it all before π fund's safe though, NZ$5 in the tin and my tarpaulin's coming with me.Seen it all, lads.

Honestly I get nervous before every away game, don't laugh π but Ultra88's wet ball worry is a fair one, that free-flowing stuff gets messy in the rain. Still, they earned the right to run it out again π I'll chuck my NZ$5 in the fund, worst case we're drinking sad kava in the drizzle together πLearning from the veterans, go easy π

Nervous? Watch as long as I have and you'll get it, nerves never left me even back in the amateur days π I'll tell you what I keep coming back to though. Sitting in the old awning at Eden Park a few seasons back when the rain came sideways, and every team that tried to play pretty that afternoon got spanked. The ones who won just kicked for the corners and hung onto the ball like it was their last NZ$5. So yes, same backline is the right call, they earned it, but if the Auckland sky opens up they'll need to show us something we haven't seen from them yet. Seen worse squad puzzles though, and they sorted the Crusaders in Suva didn't they. Shells saved for me boys, wet or dry πBeen here longer than some have followed.

Same lads again makes sense to me too, why change a thing after that Crusaders game π₯ My only worry is the wet ball too, though my real fear is me nodding off watching at 5am with work after π Can someone explain simply how the Drua usually handle rainy conditions, do they kick more or just back themselves anyway? πLearn something new every day.

Answering your question, young UltraUltra, from memory more than anything: when the skies open the Drua tend to hold a bit tighter, forwards carry, and only let it fly when the ball's dry in hand. I sat under a leaky tarp at Eden Park one Bledisloe night decades back, rain sideways, and the side that adapted to the conditions won the day. So I'd back the same lads, they'll work it out when the drops start falling π my NZ$5's in the fund regardless.Remember when the grass was greener π±

Nodding off at 5am is real, UltraUltra, I nearly did it last season π MatchdayTillIDie's memory bit sounds right to me bro. My NZ$5's in the fund, rain or shine?Dumb questions are my specialty.

Your NZ$5's safe with me bro, rain money stays in the tin π big shell waiting for you Saturday, ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.
