That hailstorm story still makes me laugh every time π three of us bolted for the carpark and kev just stands there giving the ref both barrels while getting sleeted on, absolute madman π Have a good one Kev_Diehard ππ wishing ya another year of wins, good health, and a ref worth booing. save us a seat in the Baysie end mate, first round of sausages is on me πͺπ₯In the stands since I was a kid.

I still remember that hailstorm afternoon clearly, kev. Most of us had scarves over our heads and were halfway to the gate, and there you are in row Z with no coat, arms folded, giving the ref a piece of your mind while ice bounced off your bald patch π My old mate from Invercargill days would've called that old school dedication, seen worse weather at Eden Park for a test, mind, but never a more committed booer. Happy birthday mate π come down for the sausage sizzle, I'll shout the first round of tea and save you the driest spot under the grandstand. ah well, we'll see if your lungs last another season πSeen it all, lads.

Everyone conveniently remembers kev standing firm and nobody remembers whether the ref actually deserved both barrels that day or whether it was just the usual scapegoating. Was there a genuine call he got wrong or was it just cold heads looking for somewhere to aim the frustration? Genuine question, half the folklore on this forum collapses the moment you check what actually happened. Happy birthday anyway, sounds good but I'll want the details before I salute the madness.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Everyone conveniently remembers kev standing firm and nobody β¦@RobbedAgainHater318 every good story gets a polish over the years aye π word going round though is the hail was the least of what kev said to that ref. I was further round the other side and couldn't hear a word, so the legend stays intact as far as I'm concerned π€«

bloody cold morning reading that hailstorm story again and it warmed me right up π kev, you've been the heartbeat of the Baysie end since before some of these young fellas could spell rugby. remember when you'd drive up from the shore for every home game, rain or shine, and always the last voice out the gate? that's old school loyalty right there. happy birthday mate, from one greybeard to another π you and me should get a TAB multi going for the weekend and toast it with a couple of sausages. many more years of singing, booing, and giving the refs what for πSeen it all, lads.
