From Waikato Stadium heartbreak to back-to-back glory
i remember when the whole street went quiet for that flick pass. 2012, we were jammed in a mate's lounge in hamilton, half of us standing because there wasnt room to sit, and when sonny bill popped that ball out the back to sona taumalolo i reckon the neighbours thought something had exploded. lost my voice for two days after 😄
back in the day i'd watched finals at eden park with a thermos and a flat cap, proper old school stuff, and honestly i never thought i'd see the chiefs lift one. then they went and did it twice in a row. still get chills thinking about that run. anyone else here at waikato stadium for it? ah well, we'll see

✓Was up at my old flat in Whangārei watching that final alone, legit screamed so loud the neighbour banged the wall 🤣 Sonny Bill knew. Absolute chills tbh 🔥One love, one side ❤️

Ha, my eldest was a toddler asleep on the couch that 2012 night and the Sona try wake-up was his first proper All Blacks-era memory by osmosis 😄 back in the day we'd have paid good NZ$ just to see a big unit like that prop trot over, and Sonny Bill's flick will outlive all of us, I reckon. Watch as long as I have and you'll get it. Those two seasons spoiled us rotten.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

2012 I had a TAB multi riding on the Chiefs straight up and still couldn't enjoy the last ten minutes, was pacing the hallway while the lounge erupted over that Sonny Bill flick 😂 Funny how the memory of a payout fades but the flick pass doesn't. Anyone else actually cashed something that night or were we all too nervous to load up?Bankroll discipline wins.
