i remember watching that 2017 final in johannesburg on an old telly with a dodgy aerial, nearly missed the last ten minutes to the snow on the picture 😄 when sam called that lineout with the game on the line, i knew we had it, you could just tell. chills every time. ah well, we'll see what this mob adds to the story.

young ones won't know this, but back in the day we used to travel to lancaster park in christchurch in the middle of winter, scarf up, hot pie in one hand, and it was freezing but nobody cared 😄 that 2017 final though. I was on the couch with my old man, and when sam raised those arms you just knew the whole debt owed to the past was being paid off in one call. seen it all before, they say, but i never saw nerve like that. still gives me a shiver, son.Seen it all, lads.

That 2017 side had something this mob is still building towards, honestly. Whitelock's lineout calls were basically a second brain out there. The young fellas have plenty of fire, but that calmness in the last ten minutes took years of hard trips to earn. Give them another couple of seasons and I reckon we'll be comparing them just as fondly 📊 small sample though, two seasons isn't much to judge a dynasty on.

😂 mate I was at a flat in Napier for that final and my mate had put a $5 multi on us losing, so he's sulking in the corner while the rest of us are screaming at Whitelock like lunatics. He still hasn't lived it down. Chills every time I see that call 🤣Memes are analysis too.
