Friday night at the Fortress
G'day lads, lounge is open and the kettle's on π₯ How are you all travelling? Heard the ten's back from the ankle, if that rumour's true I'm gonna be a nervous wreck by kickoff but a happy one π
Friday at the Fortress, scarves out, tailgate pies at Addington NZ$5 like always, I'll be there early getting the burners going. Remember that night we sang the whole second half in the rain? Still the best I've felt at a game tbh. Who's in for the carpark? Ah well, nowt to do but count down the days eh πͺ

βkettle on already? you'll boil it dry before friday π back in my day we stood in the rain without pies, but NZ$5 at addington sounds sweet to me, see you there with the scarf πRemember when the grass was greener π±

Nerves of steel? bro I ate three NZ$5 pies last tailgate and my cardiologist has more steel than me π€£ scarves out, kettle rule stands π»Memes are analysis too.

Haha three pies is amateur stuff mate, I did four last time and still lined up for more π€£ if the ten's really back I'll be a bundle of nerves too but stoked regardless π₯ scarves washed, gonna smash a couple NZ$5 pies before kickoff, see you all at Addington πͺOne love, one side β€οΈ

count me in for a couple of those pies, though my belt's been giving me looks since last time π the young lot never saw the old carpark chaos but this NZ$5 tradition's as sacred as the haka to me now. talking to a mate down at the farm supply yesterday, he reckons the ten's been running around at training fine, no limping that he saw. so fingers crossed the rumour holds. whanganui boy will be driving up friday arvo, scarf in the boot, kettle's on youse πRemember when the grass was greener π±

Been coming to these tailgates since I was a student, and those NZ$5 pies still taste like a win π see you all at Addington, first one for me please πLearning from the veterans, go easy π

welcome aboard young fella, first pie at the tailgate is a rite of passage as far as i'm concerned π back in the day we were stacked in that carpark like sardines and loved every minute of it. i'll bring the scarf and the wife's thermos, nerves permitting. ah well, we'll see what friday brings πSeen it all, lads.

The NZ$5 pie ritual is genuinely the most consistent thing at Addington, funnily enough. I keep a loose tally of my matchday spend across the season and the pie line barely moves while everything else creeps up. There's a nuance there too: small sample though, only been tracking it properly the last few seasons. Anyway, more interested in whether the ten actually starts. If he's back and sharp, that first-pie welcome for Wellington might come with a bonus points try fest attached. Anyone else watching selection news before Friday?

@FixIsInPTSD you're the only one here tracking this properly and I respect that. Sounds good but the pie holding steady while everything else creeps is usually a loss-leader - cheap at the gate so you spend on the rest. I'd believe the pricing is loyalty when the rest of the menu stops climbing.Sample first, conclusions after.
