back in my day we were happy just arguing about whether the 87 team could beat the 98 one, and now the young lot are talking about eight in a row like it's just the normal run of things 😄
2019 final i was at my mate's place in castlecliff, telly on, a few beers, and when the last whistle went he was out on the deck singing badly and i nearly joined him. whole street felt it. watch as long as i have and you'll get it, nights like that don't come round often, so soak them up, lads. where were you all when the history got made?

Watching that 2019 final from my couch in Auckland with the old man on the phone the whole second half, both of us too nervous to say much — funny how eight titles later I still get that same knot in the stomach come finals night 😉 Mate, back in the day you'd have called eight in a row pure fantasy. Funny you both say that about finals nerves, mine's worse now than it was in 2019. My mates always ask me to compare this lot with the streak sides, and honestly I'd say the 2017-19 teams had a harder edge up front, while the current boys play with more width and keep you on the edge of the couch 📊 small sample though, one more title and I'll happily call them equals.Numbers > vibes.

My 2019 memory is less heroic, I fell asleep at half time in my lounge, woke up to the neighbours screaming and genuinely thought someone had won Lotto 😂 I still claim I "tactical-napped" us to the title. Eight in a row and my contribution was a snore, take that young fellas 🤣Hold my pint.
