Friday night at the Brumbies lounge
Chur lads, Friday night in the lounge and the kettle's already boiling ππ₯
How are we all then? Big week coming up, who's got the guts to call the team list before it drops? Heard someone in the group chat reckon the coach is resting a couple of Wallabies for the Kiwi road trip, and now there's a naming sweepstakes going: loser shouts the first round at club night, NZ$5 in, all proceeds to the travel fund. I'm in, obviously. My record at guessing selections is shocking but ah well, nowt to do π
Still remember the night we all got the backline completely wrong and Daids was grinning like a Cheshire cat all arvo. Good times πͺπ
Who's putting their name down? Get in early, the bragging rights are worth more than the beer tbh π₯

βFunniest thing I ever saw in this lounge was old Moss calling a team list off a napkin and getting ten of fifteen right - the young lot never saw that π I'll put my NZ$5 in but I'm too old to trust group chat whispers about resting Wallabies, coach never tips his hand early. Loser shouts the first round anyway, so everybody wins on Friday night. πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Hard out, my team list predictions have the accuracy of a napkin after Moss spilled his beer on it π€£ NZ$5 well donated, carry on lads ππΏMemes are analysis too.

Chur boys π Moss off a beer-stained napkin is still the gold standard, nobody's beating that π₯ I'm throwing my NZ$5 in anyway, my record's shocking but heart says it all aye π And nah, I reckon the group chat mate's winding us up... two Wallabies rested? Coach would rather eat his own whistle than tip his hand before Thursday πͺ Still, if I lose the sweepstakes the first shout's on me, that's a promise π»πHeart with the team, head on pause.

The group chat bloke also swore blind to me last season that a certain flanker was "definitely injured" and then he played eighty minutes up north π my NZ$5's going in the bucket regardless, mind you - that travel fund's done more good than my tipping ever has. Ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.

That flanker story from last season has me howling π NZ$5 in the bucket from me too, my picks are always hopeless π Don't laugh guys, but I still think one Wallaby gets rested. Anyone keen to split a multi with me?Learning from the veterans, go easy π
-
@Matchday_Legend splitting a multi with a bloke who reckons his picks are hopeless? that's how I ended up out NZ$40 on a last-minute try scorer last season π I'd rather back your rested Wallaby hunch solo, if the TAB price moves I'll look at it Friday after training lists drop.Value over a big price πΈ

chur lads, i'll lob my NZ$5 in the bucket too though my tipping's been munted since before some of you young lot were born π Matchday_Legend, a multi with you? careful son, i once watched a bloke in this very lounge back in the day split a five-leg multi with his cousin and they still argue about it at christmas. i remember the eden park nights where the whole club pool got spent on one team list bet and nobody's let him forget it since. on the two rested wallabies, mind you, watch how the boys come off that plane in the photos on thursday. if a couple of the big names are wandering round the airport in jandals instead of training gear, that's your answer before any list drops π happy to shout the first round either way, the travel fund wins regardless aye.Remember when the grass was greener π±

I'm with Matchday_Legend, one Wallaby gets rested for the trip north, call it a hunch π Bit nervous putting my NZ$5 in though, my tipping's shocking πLearn something new every day.

don't be nervous, lad, i've put my NZ$5 on wrong names since before you were on the bottle and i still shout the bucket a smile π hunch is as good a method as any, the rest of us just dress ours up as research. see youse friday, first round's on whoever names both wallabies in the run-on and gets neither πBeen here longer than some have followed.
