Fifteen years of heart in the west, what made you fall for the Force?
i remember when the Force first kicked off and everyone down here wrote them off as a gimmick, me included, if i'm honest π followed them out of curiosity and stayed out of love - that night we finally knocked over the Crusaders in perth, the whole ground singing through the second half, well, i've watched as long as i have and you'll get it: nights like that are why we bother. fifteen years of heart in the west, and seen worse sides get far more respect, mind you.

βWas glued to the telly at my mate's place in Tauranga, yelling like a lunatic when the whistle went π±π₯ goosebumps even now, that crowd noise gave me chills ππͺOne love, one side β€οΈ

Funny you mention that night, because I was one of the diehards who used to get up at some ungodly hour back home to watch the Force on telly, you'd sit there in the dark with a cuppa while the rest of the street slept, and half the time they'd break your heart anyway π saw it all before, you think, and then Perth happened and I woke the neighbours cheering at the final whistle. Back in my day we measured a night at the footy by whether the crowd carried the team over the line in the last twenty, and that sea of blue singing through the whole second half is exactly what I mean. Fifteen years of heart in the west β you don't build that overnight, and nobody handed it to them. Proud to have stuck around for the ride, warts and all πRemember when the grass was greener π±

Watching this mob now, I keep thinking of that side which ground out the Crusaders win. Same stubborn streak, less polish. The old crew had a settled spine and knew how to close a game; this lot have more spark but still let leads slip. Small sample though, this season's young. Give them two more years and we might be singing through another second half π

I could be wrong, but I reckon the old crew "closing games" is nostalgia talking - that lot let more leads slip than we care to remember πDo the math before you argue.

My Old Man put a tenner on the Force that Crusaders night at the TAB and told the whole pub they were a sure thing, then watched me nearly disown him when they actually won π€£ fifteen years on and I still can't decide if he was a genius or the luckiest punter in Blenheim. Either way that sea of blue singing the second half is the reason I fell for this mob. Curtain call for any doubters after that one, surely ππHold my pint.

Hahaha tell me about it @OldSchoolSince86 the spark was there though. My lot never make it easy so backing us all day is what's up πYou don't abandon your own.
