Right, lads, time we dreamt big
Righto lads, bit of a quiet whisper doing the rounds that a certain All Black playmaker could be looking around when his deal winds up. Nothing confirmed, mind, just talk over a few beers. Imagine him pulling the strings behind our pack at Rugby Park though 🤡💸 Probably getting ahead of myself... or am I? 😏

✓Beers-talk isn't a source, Andy. Name the playmaker and the contract, or I'll believe it when I see it.Sample first, conclusions after.

Nah imagine him teeing up our backline behind that pack 😱🔥 we've been screaming out for a proper conductor since Richie's boys moved on, one decent signing and we're walking the derbies again. Get in! 🙌💪One love, one side ❤️

Right, someone's got to put a spreadsheet on this before we all get carried away. I could be wrong, but if we're talking an incumbent All Blacks first five, the realistic hurdles stack up pretty quickly: NZR tends to lock its marquee playmakers down early precisely so they don't hit the open market, and if he's genuinely off contract soon, you'd expect a re-signing announcement before we ever get a look in. Age matters too — if he's the wrong side of 30, we'd be paying top dollar for a short window rather than building anything. The fit is the easy part, to be fair. Behind our pack, with front-row ball on a plate, most quality 10s would look good. My table from the last few seasons says our problem has been service and game management in the big derby moments more than raw talent outside.Do the math before you argue.

The queue outside Rugby Park would be long, sure, but every punter in here seems to forget how these whispers work. By the time a name actually floats free, NZR has usually re-signed him months earlier precisely to avoid this exact daydream. I'd rather see us plan for the realistic market than bet the whole season's hope on beers-talk. 📊Numbers > vibes.

saw worse things come off than BadBeatKing reckons, honestly, remember when everyone swore dan carter was untouchable to the red and blacks forever and look how that ended up 😄 nzr can't re-sign every gun at once, and salary caps bite. so keep the dream alive lads, ah well, we'll see.Seen it all, lads.

Be honest Metric_nerd, you said the same thing last year and put a tenner on it 🤡 I'd put money through the TAB he re-signs before Christmas, but aye, keep dreaming 😏Here to argue, not to nod along.

Metric_nerd is closest to the mark here, though I'd temper it. NZR usually locks these blokes down early, sure, but caps do bite and someone always slips through. My cousin in Christchurch swore the same whisper was doing rounds at his club two seasons back and nothing came of it, so I'll believe it when the paperwork lands.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Nah, caps bite but you just know our lot never make it easy finding talent. 🔥 Get in! 🙌

Ha, this reminds me of the one about a certain loosie supposedly heading south a few years back, had half the club already picking their seats behind the posts, and then he re-signed a fortnight later. Seen worse whispers die quicker too. Back in my day the gossip went around the beer tent at Rugby Park instead of the internet, but it fell through just as often 😄 Time will tell, as the old boys used to say. Metric_nerd's right that caps bite and someone always slips loose eventually, just I wouldn't be spending the pension on season tickets for him just yet. Enjoy the dreaming while it lasts, lads, it's half the fun anyway 😉Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.
